He actually has two (Trinidad and Johnson).

I think it's a bit hyperbolic to say that Moore sends Hopkins to the hospital..

Ezzard Charles would have beaten the dogshit out of Hopkins.

  4. My Bad. I thought this thread was about Hopkins vs Moore, not Charles. I'll pay better attention next time...

Spot on. It's funny to see those posters whose knee-jerk reaction is to try to make it seem like anyone who disagrees with them is just offering the opposite of their own narrow-minded and limited point of view.

And also, it seems those same folks don't know much, if at all, about the fighters (and their opposition) that they are criticizing.

Looks like the legacy of Kid Dynamite lives on.

Just sayin'...as great as Moore was he couldn't beat Charles...Hopkins could have beaten Moore but would have gotten his ass handed to him by Charles.

Moore has a bigger punch, can take a better punch, is a genuine 175lbr, not some 160lbr on gear. He's crafty, smart, has a book full of tricks. Bernard would try to hit Mongoose low and Archie would rip his teeth out and put them back in their correct order.

  10. And Charles would have had his ass handed to him by Ali at heavyweight, but how is this relevant to the discussion?

    Hopkins doesn't know his craft?

I think I lean towards Hopkins. They were similar in size (middleweight Hopkins was the size of former lt-heavyweights) so I don't see the weight class making a huge difference. I just think Hop is the smarter, better all-around fighter and he would be able to avoid Moore's hammers to stink his way to a close decision
