I hope Karl doesn't think I liked Valero.

I sincerely think Valero was killled as he went from national hero, "El Inca" no less, to a severe embarassment for the Chavez regime.

    Gavin Rees was pretty talentless.

Before the fight, Mundine accused Ottke of, "punching like a girl."

Couldn't have happened to a bigger loser.

Some of those Aborigine Sheilas can crack.

Probably, either way he was a prick.

I like Rees, he's good to watch, but yeah he was pretty shit, still is.

I agree Valero was probably murdered, in fact pretty obviously so after seeing the crime scene.

Rees looked like a cube that somebody stuck some limbs on, and gave a pair of gloves to, and programmed him to march forward, to his death or victory.

That guy who fought for Grant Elvis Phillips---the guy who won the title when Terry Norris kept fouling the guy---Luis Santana, I think.

You're obviously trying to stir shit. Gavilan was quite skilled as was Saddler, but Saddler was also quite dirty.

Page had a fantastic left hook.

Saddler was filthy and took pride in admitting it, chastising people for confusing arm-twisting with kidney-punching.

BASTARD, stole my answer. Then again, he could lay down like nobody's business.

Glen Johnson, not talented? Are you daft? He was a top contender who lost a number of title eliminators and title fights before becoming a champ. He didn't win them without talent, that's for sure---particularly because he could be outskilled.

I never liked Ottke, but he could box. He couldn't punch, but he could box.

Evidently, but they never had German management.:shadow:

James was a heavy handed hitter who looked at one time to be a live threat to Oscar.

He dropped Oscar in sparring hard, but flash in the pan 6 Heads Lewis took care of him.

A career criminal who was not comfortable in free society with women; James is in prison where he belongs with men.

Page stood to make a lot of money as fans liked him, and he was a hard fighter, but James had other ideas.

Too bad he was a write-off as I enjoyed seeing him in ring action.

I'd say he was a lucky big euro bum that only fought guys when they were washed up.

He grew up in Canada and stopped Riddick Bowe in the Olympics, the same Bowe who beat Evander twice. I guess they were bigger lucky bums than him. :dunno:

He got lucky with Bowe and the stoppage was bs

Too bad we never got to see Valero-Diaz.

Valero woulda beat the Baby Cow like he was his wife.

Aside from who he was as a person Valero was the real deal before he got banned from the US due to failing brain scans. After that, he kind of degenerated.

I always said Pacquiao or Morales would've beaten him at the time, but given time to develop properly, who knows what he could've been?

Nothing wrong with that stoppage. Not for the ammys anyway

Yeah, he might not have been the most skillful fighter out there. He had tons of natural talent though.

Steve, how was he really talented?

He was actually quite impressive against DeMarco, the best he's ever looked, but most of the time he looked like a sloppy bum with power.

Every other attribute he had was average, and was sloppy and wild. He was powerful and fierce with decent stamina, that was about it.

I wouldn't say he was talentless. Power, ferocity and stamina are all talents, but the guy is hardly a shining example of talent

Talented in terms of hitting people hard, not much else

Did Valero even have a legit boxing trainer after he was forced the leave the US? I'm going back 10 years or so on this... guy looked like he had a ton of natural talent when he was handling guys like Morales in sparring.
