Former lightweight Olympian Yordenis Ugas, 24 year old Cuban, fought last week as a welterweight on ESPN2, scoring a TKO2 over Marqus Jackson...to improve to 3-0 (2 KO's) both in his career and in the last two months, he turned pro July 9th and already has three pro fights.

Ugas lost to Daouda Sow of France in the Olympics, who then lost to eventual gold medalist Aleksei Tishchenko.

Below are two separate videos of his fight from last week, depending on which quality you prefer:

Bloated Rafael claims Rigondeaux will possibly be facing Ricardo Cordoba on the November Pacquiao card. What is the word on Cordoba, does he present any problems for a guy with only 6 pro fights? I see that he was KOd by Dunne, so he cant be much.

Well he dropped Dunne two or three times and was on the verge of getting the KO win a couple of times, before getting stopped. He ran Poonsawat and Sidorenko (twice) close at 118. It´s a good measuring stick for the 7th pro fight. If he destroys Cordoba in 5-6 rounds, it would be very impressive.

Sorry. Beibalutz Shemanzakov, the talented Siberkahztan fighter, is better than all of them. I foresee nothing but heartbreak for you in years to come, as your Mexboxing favourites are battered around the ring by the "Simian From The Steppe".

Alfonso Blanco Parra is training with Robert Garcia and is turning pro on the Mora-Mosley card...for those that remember him from the Olympics.

He also knocked out/stopped the big Chinese at the Olympics. Seems a quick fisted dude with some pop, southpaw too.

Cammarelle, Russo...these guys are just continuations of the Chagaev, Povetkin, Solis style of boxing...plodding, glove-blockers, with accurate, heavy hands. Not positive if Solis was like that as an am, but he sure is now.

That's one of those ones, if it comes off, it's ambitious match-making, but would be a very nice undercard fight on Pacquiao-Margarito.

Some video of Rigondeaux's last fight.

Jose Pedraza, who beat Onur sipal and lost to Daouda Sow as a lightweight in 2008, will be making his pro debut tonight.

He also helped bring together what I guess will be known as "Team Puerto Rico".

    His fight with Sow:

Video of Jose Pedraza's pro debut last month against Felix Rivera...you can see both Shaw and Dibella in the ring congratulating him afterwards.

Pedraza will be fighting again March 28th in NYC on a Broadway Boxing show.

Demetrius Andrade. I really like this guy. I think he is better than the hyped up Daniel Jacobs coming out of the amateurs. He has a pro style and very nice measurables for his weight class.

He's a smooth, slick, southpaw boxer that can get some respect with decent punching power. I do think he was the class of the 2008 Olympic team. If he is guided properly, he should win multiple titles. And this is coming from a New Yorker who despises anything New England!

Andrade's last fight on FNF in January...not the best quality.

What happened to the really good Ukranian guy at the olympics that won gold, and was just in another league to everyone he fought?

That guy would have made a good pro, surely. Has he turned pro?

I saw him get beat by Selimov at the 2007 world am championships final 16-11.
Then they got matched up in the first round of the 2008 olys and Lomachenko won 14-7. After that he dominated everyone else on the way to gold.

And he apparently dominated at the 2009 world ams, too.

He is 23 now so I don't know what he gains by winning another oly gold, but he does risk losing a lot if he doesn't win the gold. I suppose he is young enough to justify staying am or going pro, though.

Yep, does seem a bit weird, going for another gold. I mean, why?

He could be making very good money right now, and seems to have a style pretty well suited to the pros.

There were some quotes I saw about this last year, I think, where he said something like he wanted to go pro but his father didn't want him to yet.

But he said he would after the 2012 Olys.

Korobov made a similar move (won the Val Barker award and then lost at the next olympics, i think) and I think his later loss in the following olympics probably cost him a hell of a lot of $ when he signed with Top Rank.

It strikes me how a pretty large number of European and Cuban fighters are southpaw.

I wonder is that by design or are they actually lefthanded?

I don't think Korobov won the Val Barker, the guy he lost to in '08 (Artyev) won it the previous Olympics...and then he went on to lose to Degale in '08.

Interesting, I remember not really liking how Korobov lost that fight to Artyev. Something about it raised some red flags.
