Silly thread but it might lead to something interesting.

So, you get to meet a boxing Oracle who knows everything but can't affect anything and you have one question that you could ask about boxing, what would it be? For example it could be a result of some mythical matchup, a secret such as did Dempsey load his gloves, who was the biggest puncher ever, how Max Baer would have fared fighting in the 70s or is David Tua fat.

First one I could think of is how Sonny Liston would fare in the 90s

    Hmm interesting.

For future events i'd ask who would win between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

As far as mysteries from the past or how fighters from other eras would do i'd have to think about it for a while.

Until the HBO Luis Resto documentary came out last year I would have asked "what was in the black bottle given to Aaron Pryor before the 14th round vs. Arguello."

Right now I would ask how far back was Margarito using plaster inserts in his gloves?

Also about Sonny Liston in the Ali rematch. Definitely about the Dempsey-Willard fight too. Did Jack Johnson throw the Williard fight? Was Luis Santana faking it in the first Norris fight? How about Andre Dirrell vs. Abraham?

I'd just ask who will win upcoming fights so I can find the biggest underdog and put as much money as possible down

Along those lines, but not really...what if Jesse Ferguson had accepted Mercer's bribe attempts...how would he have gone about throwing the fight?

Would he have just stayed in his corner after a round or would we get a Snake Eyes-like acting job?

Um....I'm sure a vastly better question will pop into my head presently....but off the top of said head, 'how would a 96-97 era Naseem Hamed have faired against Barrera, Morales, Marquez'?

Fun topic --- well done. Let me ask you, without the oracle, what's your best assertion on how Liston would fare in the 90's?

My question, staying with Liston, would be about the first (yes, first!) Ali-Liston clash. That is a far more compelling subject than the return fight, IMO (in itself, still interesting).

You wouldn't rather know what really went on in Zaire in 74? How great Harry Greb was? Will Mayweather ever fight Pacquiao?

    Nice thread actually.

The Ali-Frazier in manilla one is a good one.

I happen to think that Ali's adrenaline would have carried him through the 15th and Frazier would have been beaten up even more. He (Ali) would then have collapsed even worse at the final bell.

What would have happened in Bowe-Lewis if they fought immediately after the Ruddock and first Holyfield fights respectively?

Robinson would beat Jones at Middleweight, count on that. Super-Middle & Light-Heavy become a good deal trickier. Robinson was losing both speed & his punch as he went up, while Jones was more experience & just all-round more in-control by the time he had left Middle.

I would ask for a list of fighters who are taking or have taken PEDs. Are they all on something? most of em? a select few? What is the reality.
