Inspired by another thread... anyway, battle of the dead wife-beaters.

    At 130 or 135.

In a fight between two poorly defending power punchers there is a good chance that one of them dies young.

    I pick Valero

    Corrales by brutal KO.

    Easy fight to pick.

Chico is bigger, more powerful, more accurate, and has much crisper, more compact punches. Way more effective up close.

Chico was also a sucker to quick attacks. Even Valero's looping shots would find his lousy chin

before valero got derailed with the suspension he appeared to be the more skilled, more reflexive boxer who wouldve tattooed corrales at will

I think theres a good chance Valero would be kicking Chico's ass for awhile, then BOOM! Walk into a counter hook that puts him away.

There's no doubt he was more powerful.

The power Corrales generated in a 6 inch hook was freakish.

Valero was an animal, and obviously had heavy hands, but what half decent fighter has he ever KO'd with one punch? None.

Remember Freitas's ridiculously high KO% over shit opposition? Corrales hit considerably harder than Freitas. He was the puncher in their fight, not Fruity.

Against DeMarco and the Panamanian, Valero's power looked nothing special to be honest. He was just a ferocious dude.

Was Corrales ever actually found guilty of wife-beating? He just seemed like such an easy going guy with a good head on his shoulders.

He threw his pregnant wife down the stairs but I am not sure if he actually beat her so yes, he could be a jolly good fellow

I remember that this was the accusation and that he was also accused of hitting her wasn't he? Was he ever actually found guilty though? People get accused all the time.

He plead out of court and accepted lesser jail time. So no, from a semantics standpoint, he was never actually found guilty. But it was clear that he wasn't going to win his court case, so he compromised.

    Yup. I'm with you here.

I dont think Valero had the one shot power of Corrales.

Even on a bad night, Corrales could show a good beard and heart against much better, more proven fighters than Valero, such as Floyd, Castillo, Casamayor, etc. He also beat more proven guys than Valero, guys like Garcia, Castillo, Freitas, etc.

Valero reminds me a bit of Freitas. Freitas was knocking everybody out once-upon-a-time.

I think Corralles cut a better swathe at a higher level.

    Corralles wins this one.

Chico would have killed that scrub in less time than the Venezuelan cops did.
