What? Is this a real question?

    De La Hoya....

Calzaghe finished his career undefeated. This is the sign of pfp undefeatedness and greatness.

Greater fighter? De La Hoya, clearly.

Better fighter? I'd say Calzaghe by a nose personally, harder to beat.

Yeah it's hard to beat a fighter who waits til you're near shot before he'll fight you.:goingmad:

Excellent. Fightbeat has it's head screwed on.

  10. De La Hoya no question.

Head to head and P4P I'd pick Calzaghe though.

Oscar's career accomplishments however far outweight those of Calzaghe even though the latter retired undefeated.

That's why I said Oscar is the greater fighter. I still think Calzaghe is the better fighter of the two, and if there were a p4p match up between the two I'd pick Calzaghe.

When did oscar ever struggled against such elite fighter as kabary salem.

When oscar fought the kind of opposition that Joe fought, he looked way more spectacular and sensational than joe ever did

Oscar at 140lb >>>> Calzaghe. Probably still better at welter, tbh.

  15. ILLUMINATI

P4P matchup De La Hoya would beat Calzaghe's ass....Beating old Eubanks, Jeff Lacy, Kessler, and old Hopkins and Jones(ancient)...that is Calzaghe legacy

43 y/o Hopkins (SD), Kessler, Lacy, Old Eubank

The 4 elite fighters Joe proved his greatness against. FUCK JOE CALZAGHE, TWICE.

The one man epitome of everything that's wrong with modern match making and people's gullibility in the face of it.

I'm relieved Fightbeat is making the right choice here :bears:

    Couldnt agree more.

People alway complain that fighters don't take enough risk, yet, when a complete non risk taker such as calzaghe retires undefeated (even tought he could have lost 2 of his fights), he's praised more than real fighters who had the guts to test themselves.

Calzaghe because he clowned Roy and for that he deserves an eternal place in any p4p list

Danny green clowned him worse, stopped him in one and didn't hit the canvas in the process. Where does he rank p4p for you?

Oscar probably lost to Quartey and Whittaker.

Greatness? Or who wins in a fight?

I'll go with Calzaghe P4P, whatever the weight...I'm assuming we're going with 135 or 140 for DLH's peak.

I'm not convinced any P4P version of DLH beats the Hopkins of today in a mythical fight.
