I disagree. His wrestling translated nicely to MMA against opponents like Lil Nog. I just think Jones' strength, size, athleticism and and of course Jones' own wrestling experience nullified anything Bader had to offer in the fight. Which I might point out that no one had done to Bader until then. Like I said, I don't think Bader is world class, and in fact I thought that beating Bader to get the shot at Rua didn't make any sense. But the performance Jones put on against Bader in which he absolutely dominated him in wrestling and then tapped him out was impressive to say the least.

He had trouble getting Lil Nog down on multiple occasions. Not the makeup of a good MMA wrestler.

Especially when you consider Brilz got Nog down literally at will.

Congrats to Bones. He is going to very difficult to beat. That length is very difficult to overcome. Both standing and on the feet.

Make Anderson/Bones happen now!!! I would give my left nut for that fight!

I can't think of an MMA fighter that uses his range advantage as well as Jones does.

Bones is Legit people! Like Bob and GF said, that damn length is a bitch! Even though Shogun didnt look like himself, Bones was in complete control.

When making my picks I was tempted to go with the more experienced, well rounded fighter. But SOMETHING in my gut told me that it is Jones time and hes in the moment. He looked great tonight.

He commits a lot of defensive mistakes. But his offense is so great, it makes up for it. As the LHW panorama looks right now, I see him reigning for a long time.

Serious? just a second before you told us all Rua would "manhandle" Jones. Now you see him reigning for a long time? :scratcher: I know you even see the sillyness in your posts.:kidcool:

    This was a complete DESTRUCTION.

Jones' front knee kick, devastating. Shogun kept trying to remain in the fight. His post-fight interview showed how plucked up he was.

I thought the kid didn't had the mental fortitude to deal with the elite. He proved me wrong. You know what is "silly"? A grown ass man using the word "silly".

I dont see many LHW's able to deal with Jones' size. At first I thought that Machida would give him fits, hovever, after watching him last night, Machida will have to take like 3 steps to get from Jones jab to be able to land his own shot! And then that will leave him open for the takedown. This darting in and out shit wont work because Jones just has to get one of those damn tentacles around him and hes done.

Its going to take another BIG LHW with great wrestling/sub game to beat him.

What a performance by Jones. Very happy for him.

Jones vs Anderson Silva would be something.

It would be fun on the feet for a second or two, then Jones takes him down and destroys him.

Thought the sarcasm was pretty obvious in reference to TLC's previous comments.

Sorry. I didn't remember who had made the comments about Jones and his "arrogance".

If it is TLC, it only adds to his stellar forum legacy.

I really don't see anything wrong with using the word "silly", in fact when someone says one thing and then totally contradicts it in the exact same thread, I really can't think of any word that describes such an action better than "silly". Maybe if you could have at least precluded such a rediculous contradiction, "Wow, I was dead wrong" or maybe even "Well I called that shit wrong" and then maybe put the lol smilie after it. That would have saved you a bit of face, homey. But hey hindsight is 20/20 right? Well obviously:Thumbs:

 at the idea of Jones Vs Machida.

Machida is kind of an overachiever like Rashad, you wonder, how the fuck is his win % so high?

    Jones destroys Machida.

Jones proved yesterday that size does and doesn't matter.

He proved that penis size has no bearing on fighting prowess.

He also proves that being a 6'4 (looks even taller to be honest, maybe his opponents heights are buffed like in boxing) 205 pounder in MMA with absurd reach is pretty fucking good.

If GSP get by Shields, then it's a super fight with Anderson Silva. Then if Silva is successful, he goes up to 205 to fight Jones. WOW!!

    Meanwhile Mayweather remains ASLEEP.

Sadly, REED DIDN'T See the Fight Last Night...Faced w/the Option of Ordering the PPV, Going to a Sports Bar OR Making a Couple Bucks Helping a Friend, REED (his Wallet AND Mrs. REED) Chose the LATTER...But Marcus Hicks was Kind Enough to Give REED a Brief Account of the Fight Though...

REED Actually Saved the Exchange & will Transcribe it:giggle:

REED: Say Dog, if you Can, Keep me Posted on the Bones Jones-Shogun Fight...

    HICKS: I Got You...

    Couple Hours Later...

HICKS: 1st Round and Jones Already Got a Take Down
REED: He Already Took Shogun Down?
HICKS: Yep. Winning Easy So Far
REED: Damn, that Nigga Might B the TRUTH!
    HICKS: BOI!!!!!

    Few Minutes Later...

    HICKS: Jones Easy, TKO 3
REED: Damn, did he Even Lose a Minute of Any Round?
    HICKS: No, Not Even Close
REED: WOW! Nobody's Invincible, but it's Gonna Take a BAD Motherfucker to Take that Title from Jones...

    HICKS: True. Rashad's Next. LOL
REED: He's Gonna Beat the Fucking Brakes Off of Rashad's Ass
HICKS: Yeah, they were Training Partners, so Jones Knows him Well...

Though Marcus is a Man of FEW Words, it Seems that Gave REED the GIST of The Fight...REED'll See it Eventually...Happy as HELL that Bones Jones Won it...From the Moment REED Watched his Fight w/Bonnar (on the ASS End of Some Major UFC PPV Card), Bones Jones was DIFFERENT...

N an Already Violent Sport, Bones Jones was SHOCKINGLY Violent...ATHLETIC as just about Any MMAist REED had Ever Seen to that Point & CREATIVE as Hell...As the Level of Comp has Gotten Stiffer & Stiffer, Jones has STILL Been AWE Inspiring & No Less Violent, Athletic & Creative...Guys Just DON'T Get Away w/Spectacular Kicks & Daredevil Moves CONSISTENTLY, yet Bones Jones Does...& he's 23???!!!!...Realistically 2-3 Years BEFORE he Reaches his Prime Fighting Years???!!!...

Just as Cain Velasquez will CLEARLY Influence an UPSWING in MMA Fandom in the Latino Community, Jon Jones will Do LIKEWISE w/the Brothers...50 Cent is ALREADY on his Nuts...Ditto for Most of the Baltimore Raven Teammates of Jones' Older Brother...

REED's just Glad that he Can HONESTLY Say he was ON the Bandwagon PRIOR to the Hype...
