I liked this movie, not as much as Goodfellas or some of the other Scorsese flicks, but I still thought it was pretty good.

Just wondering what you thought about this: was Joe Pesci's character SUPPOSED to be funny?

    He was hilarious to me.

Yes, he was supposed to be both entertaining and terrifying. He played basically the same guy he did in Goodfellas.

I think this was De Niro's last great 'De Niro' performance.

Was this the one where Pesci keeps calling De Niro a jew motherfucker? Good stuff.

I rated Casino a little above GoodFellas, myself. Great, great movie.

Casino is the SHIT! To me, its more rewatchable than Goodfellas. I dont have a problem with anybody who says that Goodfellas is better, but anybody who thinks that Goodfellas blows Casino away(as many say) are talking out thier asses!!

To me, Goodfellas and Casino are on the same level. Both are brilliant movies... but I enjoy Casino more.

Can't agree with you there. I saw Casino as a poor man's Goodfellas.

    My favorite Pesci scenes are

    1) when he walks to his car with the show girl, opens the door for her...makes her slide over then without saying a word grabs her head then pulls it to his lap.

2). when he's sitting with Sharon Stone and she's crying, asking him to kill Ace then he does the same to her.

Put me down as one of those who thinks Goodfellas blows Casino away. They're both true stories that I read before either movie was made, and Goodfellas is just a better story with more to it, imo.

Same. I won't argue with anybody who says Goodfellas is superior but i personally preferred Casino.

    Of course both were great.

Good movie. Underrated due to the fact it came out so soon after Goodfellas. I know about ten people that watched them for the first time 10 years after Casino came out and they liked Casino better! The scene in the cornfield is one of the most brutal ever depicted in film. It turns out, according to F.B..I that they were probably killed by fists and feet in a basement at a hunting lodge, not where they were buried. I read a couple of books on the Joe Pesci portrayed character Anthony "The Ant" Spilotro. He was one evil midget.

I think that's true of "Scarface", but there's considerable layers to the characters of these Scorsese films

As Cdogg said, scarface is overrated.

But Godfather 1 and 2 are great films. Casino is seriously overrated though.

Scarface is a shitty film. Much like Commando, if you view it as a comedy, then it can be good. As an action film, it is shit. In fact, anyone that likes Scarface absolutely has an I.Q. lower than 100.

The whole time watching it, I can't wait for Tony Montana to die

You know Godfather is great because you actually find yourself "liking" these horrible people
