Reid won the WBC title back when it was being passed around from Billy to Jack. He fought a one-handed Joe Calzaghe and thats his biggest score to date.

 

That twat Carl Dilks is also fighting.

 

I thought at the time, and still do, that Reid won that fight. He has more merit to his claim than Hopkins does. Still though, you're right, it was the best Reid against a one handed Calzaghe

 

Reid was also robbed vs. Ottke, no?

 

Probably- the one actual home-town decision upon whic so many other decsions have been retro-actively based. But even if Reid had won, Ottke was by then finished, I think that was one his final fights.

Reid was a smallish SMW, Peter Manfredo size, short, sawn off kind of guy.

 

Reid was robbed against Ottke, imo (ottke, who received a number of hometown decisions imo... the Tate "headbutt" cut, one of the Brewer fights, and Reid being some of them) but no way did Reid beat Calzaghe! Close but clear win for Joe. I thought Calzaghe showed a great chin in that one.

The Ottke fight was one of the most disgraceful things I've ever seen, the referee was warning Reid for punching Ottke in the face! Germany has a "reputation" which I feel is unjust, but that was a disgrace.

And yes, I still feel he beat Calzaghe.
