I have a feeling we are all going to witness a spectacular performance from Mosley. Anyone else here think Mosley will pull the upset?

I just can't see him being able to handle Pac, but I think he'll make it tough for Pac early doors.

I'd say there's approximately a 10-15% chance of landing a fight changing/ending bomb. Much like he nearly did against Floyd.

He's no other way of winning.

You're the nervous type as is...spent many sleepless months worrying about Cotto's chances vs Mayorga.

and like the bomb landed on Mayweather, when Pac doesn't go to sleep he proceeds to lose the remaining 10 rounds.

Manny Pac is far from a defensive genius.

OK, Make it a 20% chance if you like. But he isn't winning a decision. He could fight. Not in 100 attempts.

Man, if only Shane wasn't 39. I honestly think Manny is the kind of fighter that Shane could look good against. Shane seemingly loves going to war and Manny is the kind of guy that will bring the fight right to him.

Manny's movement isn't the kind that gives Mosley trouble. Manny has great footwork but stays in the pocket long enough to throw combinations, which would have given a younger Shane the opportunity to trade.

The problem is that Shane's reflexes and ability to pull the trigger at the right time looked faded in both the Mayweather and Mora fights. Both those guys are much different movers than Manny obviously, but the point is the same. When the opportunities were there, Shane couldn't let go enough.

There might be some interesting moments in this fight especially if Manny's diminished interest increases. And in my opinion, Shane is the best combination of speed and power that Manny has faced since his featherweight days. So it might be fun if Shane can turn back the clock a little bit.

I think Mosley is being badly underrated here. I dont care how he looked in his last fight, styles makes fights and I have a feeling he' gonna put Pac to sleep!

    Just my opinion...........

We are due for a major upset and it wouldn't surprise me, still I don't expect it to happen.

Again, I think a younger version of Shane would have been capable of beating Manny. But 39 is old and Shane has been in some real fights.

Styles do make fights but Shane is aging.

I do think even this version of Shane is the best combo of power, chin, and speed that Manny has faced north of FW. So, as I said, I am personally hoping Shane can find a little Fountain of Youth and turn back the clock a year or two.

Fair enough. But I just have a feeling Shane is gonna land a bomb that will take Pac out. Cant wait for this fight :bears:

Manny has to fight a very disciplined fight and use his feet. I'd presume Roach knows this. But I agree with Hex that this fight is more dangerous than people think, Mosley has a stylistic advantage here, though probably not enough of one to counteract the difference in quality.

    I'll be watching.

BTW - this is the first guy with a good right hand that Manny has faced since Marquez. Just an observation.

I don't see Mosley's stylistic advantage. His style is still suited to beat guys who are slow enough and give constant aggression. Manny of these days does plenty of in and out movement and is very quick with it. He is easier to hit than May of course, but then again Manny does more damage as he fires more combos. Everything points out to a one-sided beating

Mosley is old, clearly past his best. He gave his last hurrah in the Margarito fight. He has nothing left in the tank to do anything impressive against Pacquiao.

    Punchy Shane

Shane could have stopped him at 135 and 147 in his formative and peak years.

Mosley is really washed up physically from all of the training, fights, and drugs that have wrecked his body.

The guy is not all there mentally (turning down $12 million for a third Oscar fight and accepting a fight for a tenth of that vs. Winky Wright and getting his butt kicked) and was seriously wiped out financially in a divorce, folks.

He has no other choice but to keep fighting, so expect to be seeing him for a few years to come as he does not know anything else.

he was with Jin when he turned down teh Oscar rematch....I'm glad he turned it down...less money for Jin. She refuses to go away...their divorce should have been settled prior to the Margarito fight...I'm guessing she thought he'd get his ass whupped then lucked up and won...figures she can squeeze more money out of him.

Getting back to when shane would have beaten Pac I agree...though I have a difficult time seeing Manny, rather Freddie Roach allowing Manny to get in the ring with that version of Mosley.

Pacquiao would beat any version of Shane. Barring a 1 punch KO I don't see how Mosley wins.

Pacquiao is faster, more agile, more unpredictable, a better boxer, and has better stamina.

I guess partly from size/strength, even this version of Mosley could have his moments and at least be competitive early.
