You already know that's going to be the whole promotional angle of the "fight". Garbage matchup. PBF should be ashamed.
i wouldnt mind seeing this beatdown. surprisingly though, spadafora's actually been more active of the two lately.
You have to love it. Its like that movie "Great White Hope" instead of an amateur victory, its a sparring session victory. Needless to say, all the shills will play their part to get this made, I can hear Steve Kim sounding off already......."Hey, Floyd hasn't been active and Spaddy is a bigger lightweight than JMM was" ,without a hint of irony. Fischer will chime in and tell the world that "Spadafora really did get the better of Floyd that time". THIS IS GAY.
spaddy roughed him up in sparring years ago and some of it was taped and released. this is back in like 02 i think. anywho, it was floyd's first day back in training and spaddy was getting ready for a world title fight. not relevant as to how it would play out if they actually fought. floyd wins every round en route to a punishing stoppage.
honestly, floyd should've fought spaddy right after he defeated castillo in the rematch. he could've gone to pittsburgh in front of a soldout crowd and won another belt. although, i'm sure spadafora would've asked for a ridiculous amount of $. regardless, they would've been one of floyd's better wins at the time.
Spaddy hasn't been in a high profile bout since 2003, when he needed help from the judges to earn a draw with the limited Leonard Dorin.
A mediocre champ 8 years and 2 divisions ago. As I said, this has to be a malicious rumour. Floyd may have no interest in staking a legacy or respecting the sport/fans, but he does have an interest in selling fights and there has to be a saleable shadow of credibility to do that.
Spadafora? More like sell it to Floyd at a profit, being that it's now his only marketable commodity.
This fight would be like a spoof parody of of a Mayweather opponent choice. This has mischievous rumour plastered all over it.
Actually, PBF is now HBO's only real marketable commodity. Arum punked HBO. It's the reason why I think this has more truth than fiction to it.
