Says Salido, then Marquez, then up to 130.

I have a feeling he'll avoid Chris John and jump straight to 130 lbs.

Juanma is a decent fighter with many holes in the defensive department. He's also going through a divorce which means baby momma drama. He better stay focused or he will lose sooner then later.

What's the excuse for not fighting Gamboa?

JuanMa already moving up to 130? Sounds to me like a lazy bitch maybe cowardice bitch... with more than a few good/great matchups at 126....no point moving up to 130

JuanMa & Company are clearly looking for easy fights. The Marquez fight wasn't even that competitive. Marquez hit him with his best shots, hurt him momentarily, and basically proved to us all he has no possible chance of beating JuanMa. I guess that's why JuanMa & Company would want a rematch.

I'm surprised that with an idol like Trinidad, that JuanMa seems to be so risk averse. If he's going to rematch anyone, why not Matagwa?

At least he's not calling out the winner of Agbeko/Mares. That'd be what Berto's camp would do.

On that note, I can't believe it, but I'll be rooting for Ortiz to beat Berto. I never thought I'd ever root for Ortiz, but at least Ortiz has taken on contenders in his own division.

I'm sure he will sooner than later. But what will it change? He's already groomed that DuBois, or whatever his name is, you know the guy who always does coke during fights?

You're probably right. Still, let me dream, Dub. Let me dream.

I was never sold on Juanma, I think he has too many defensive holes and can get very sloppy at times. I have said this from day 1, that sloppiness will be his downfall.

I say we all chip in and get him a Fisher Price "My First Mountain Climb" kit.

Agreed about the rematch. Frankly, I didn't think there was that suspense before the first fight. There's no need for a rematch, but Marquez is a relatively safe "name" opponent that Lopez obviously has shown he can beat, and he makes this a Puerto Rico-Mexico fight, which is probably why he's mentioning Puerto Rico as a possible venue.

As for Berto-Ortiz, that's a fight I honestly have no rooting interest in.

Lopez and Berto are both jokes for their reluctance to face top opposition.

The only time Lopez has looked legit is blowing out Ponce. And well, Ponce isn't particularly good.

He didn't even look particularly good against the small, shopworn Marquez.

I hope he fights Gamboa and gets his thrashing.

PS, as much of an annoying nutjob as Ortiz is, rooting for him over Berto is doing the right thing.

Quite simply, Berto deserves to lose, doesn't matter who it's against.

Todd deBuof, he's Arum's son-in-law. I don't know about the coke thing, but the rest is pretty much on the money.

Yeah, my feeling is, if things were reversed and Gamboa was the Puerto Rican and Juanma was the Cuban, the fight would probably be closer to coming off.

I just can't do it, man. Ortiz is such a blatant douche. I'd like to see him get his ass kicked even more than Berto.

If Gamboa was boricua, he'd easily be a superstar by now.

JuanMa is and will always remain a tougher sell beyond La Isla del Encanto

No. Arum not coughing up some money for Duk Koo Kims mother was brutal. She later committed suicide. Arum took it up all wrong when somebody told him to go fuck a duck.

JuanMa defense is SHIT...and his OFFENSE hasn't look so hot in years....but he can improve on that with throwing MORE JABS and left lead right hook or lead lefts..like a moron..

Watch him in the audience during every TR show. He does nothing but scratch his nose. All night long.

I'm with you. As tough as it is to root for Ortiz, I cannot ever root for Berto the bully, the guy who simply can't find it in his heart to fight a live contender from his own division.

Steve Kim's got an article up about it at Max.

Arum on the chances of it going to a network...
