Anyone else excited about this? I'm going to laugh my ass off if I see Lesnar giving striking advice. :Ramonza:
Do you guys see what's coming up ? One guy is a Muslim and one guy is Christian. One is seen praying reading the Holy Bible one Koran. This is a must see fight! Go black dude!!
I heard rumors that Lesner is training at Xtreme Couture for his next fight. Has anyone heard anything?
All ive gotta say is that im PISSED. My 8 yr old was home sick with a babysitter while i took my 4 yr old to football practice. I get home to watch on DVR and its deleted. I woke him up to ask what happened and he said,"dad, Avatar was on. I had to change the channel" and of course its now 11pm which means i missed the replay too. Man if this kid wasnt sick......hed be sleeping on the front porch tonite ...
To add insult to injury, hes seen every episode of this stupidass cartoon at least 5 times minimum. We call him the AVATARD thats how bad it is. And it cost me episode 1 of TUF. Unreal
I thought it was funny that JDS #1 pick was...a wrestler and the game plan he had the guy employ was basically expactly what Lesnar needs to do to JDS. After watching the first episode, I think Lesnar will do a pretty good job as a coach. JDS was already jealous that Lesnar was able to have one on one conversations with the fighters. JDS doesn't speak enough english to have a full on conversation. That was one boring fight though, the dude is a good wrestler but he did nothing but lay on the guy.
Something tells me this is going to be a boring season. JDS doesn't speak english very well and Brock is relatively quiet. And no one should regret missing last night's episode. It was sleep inducing.
do you think there is anything to what he was saying about not showing his full arsenal? I don't. I think he is exactly what we saw.
I agree. His arsenal might include average striking but it obviously includes zero Jiu-Jitsu. He had at least 10 opportunities to apply submissions and never tried one.
Man that fight was boring. At least the black dude showed that he is good at 1 discipline. Man, that other guy was horrible. Bad on his feet, wrestling, and submissions. Such a waste of a spot imo.
I agree, this is going to shape up to be a very boring season. I'm a big fan of TUF (more so than the boxing reality shows etc), but man, that was THE most boring episode ever. For starters, why change the format? The prelims are always really fun. You see a whole bunch of fights all on one show, even if mostly highlights. Plus the guys are generally fighting pretty hard to get on the show. Why change it??? And that Bailey guy initially seemed fairly likeable, but is actually just a typical all American douchebag. Kept talking about his opponent being from "overseas". Your coach is from overseas, fucktard :: I really appreciate an elite wrestler like GSP (even if yes, some of his work is basically elite lay and pray), but I can't stand the average lay and pray artist like Bailey. He didn't try to do ANYTHING else, not even a bit of striking or BJJ. Even Dana was disappointed. I love watching wrestlers that just throw their opponent around the ring, and score insane takedowns like GSP does. Not just fucking lay on there opponent.
That's the thing that frustrates me the most. The guy spent almost 9 minutes in a variety of dominant positions on the ground and didn't try even one sub that I can recall. Why? His whole mantra was "Attack, attack, attack". Why not attack with an arm triangle or north south choke or something. Damn.
and this guy was the #1 pick of JDS. If he wins it really shows you that TUF is really getting depleted when it comes to new talent.
I enjoyed last night's show. I thought Lesnar's words were inspiring and actually helped shift the fight. That was literally heart vs. wil. As for the quitter, i just dont get it. After 13 seasons, you still have people quitting.
I missed the show last night. For some reason the guide said it was a rerun so it didn't record. Looks like it will re-air tomorrow evening.
I thought Lesnar's words were dumb. Seriously... He was basically telling his fighter that he wasn't good enough to win BUT everyone has a shot. What a way to instill confidence... Holy shit that was bad coaching. And honestly, if I hear Chicken Salad out of Chicken Shit one more time I'll barf. But for me, the thing that pissed me off most was the dude that quit.... WTF? He missed his family? Bullshit. He could handle training like JDS was making him train so he punked out. I wonder if he realizes that he now never has a shot at being in the UFC. Can you ever see Dana White signing him after this. The dude could go on a 20-0 run and still not get noticed by the UFC..
The guy had no confidence. MMA is a part time job for him. He is the second worst fighter there and even his own teammates thought he was going to lose. I thought it was inspirational. To me it seems like he is doing the Drill Sargent type coaching. Break them down and build them up.
I totally agree on all 3 points. It was weird that he was basically saying "Yeah, to be honest you don't have much of a shot, but you never know, on any given sunday" :: And yes, enough with the fucking chicken shit into chicken salad, we heard you the first 563 times. And the hillbilly guy yep, who knows why he quit, but really stupid and bizarre. It did kind of seem like he simply couldn't hack the training regime, and didn't want to really push himself to adapt to it. By the way, I don't like being too negative, but damn, the talent level this year seems on the scrubby side for sure. That Mexican guy is meant to be their second best fighter? The guy is basically a scrub.
They will weed out the bullshit. Its not like they got to see them fight, so they are only going by who they THINK the best fighters are.
What a boring clinchfest that was yawnnnnnnn Lesnar is horrible like you guys said. His motivational speeches are just awful. He keeps implying or even straight up saying his guys are garbage.
