He has had one long jail term from 2002-2005. He has weaseled out of all the other trouble.

    That is not splitting hairs.

A badly faded fighter like Rahman would have no hope of standing up to the punishment that Brähmer took in those 30 seconds against Sukhovsky. That the fight would have been stopped by any other referee is a different subject. Brähmer had trouble with fighters on Sukhovsky´s level in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.

Irish is just getting in early. This Fury sounds like he's prime to be match with one of the Klits.

Fury's just been using the "look bad to get good fights" approach so far.

Fury just returned from sparring with Wladimir and said he was "not impressed".

This means he was beaten badly in sparring and has no recollection of events.

If you read back on any post I have made pertaining to Fury you will see I am not at all high on the guy.

His father made a point of claiming that their Gypsy background was key in David Price and not Fury being sent to China in 2008 to represent the UK at the Olimps.

This is in fact partially true. The Chinese had contacted the British Embassy in Shanghai and said they had all their tarmac and whippets purchased.

Fury has shown a lack of interest in maintaining a rigorous training regime- his gym is out his back yard and I think he can bench-press like 110lbs or so.

The Rahman fight will show us whether he is any good at all.

I wish the kid well vs. Rahman, who made the most idiotic financial move in heavyweight history by turning down umpteen guaranteed millions after he KO'd Lewis, and now he is being used as cannon fodder for up and comers.

That is the size of it.

How anybody could be so dumb as to fall for a duffel bag of notes.

It was barely $200,000. Only in America!!!

I hope Hasim does not hit the tank for this one. I hope he makes this kid fight a bit and we can get a better prognosis for him.

Say what you will about the skill level at hw but it's never been as full of devious masterminds as it is now.

I think it's more that he's trying to make Rahman sound now-faded-but-still-relevant in order to make Wlad's beating up a badly faded Rahman in 2008 seem like a worthwhile victory.

Tyson's people must know that Fury will beat a 38 year old Rahman. That's why they made this fight.

    Yes!! Yes!!! Thats it!!!

Why did HBO televise the Rahman fight and not the Chagaev fight?

    Relevance is a motherfucker.

I like this fight because it gives us an idea about Fury. Nothing more. Anybody who sees anything else has, obviously, gone batshit. :pointlaugh:

Rahman will most likely KO this guy. His balance is horrid (a common side effect of obesity) & he's as sloppy as runny shit. He's a nice relaxed puncher but that's literally it.

I'd say he is a thug just like the old man, this "happy chappy" nonsense is a front.

I love the way he said that more people could relate to him than to the Klitschkos.

Like who?? Social Services?? The Met? Lancashire Police??

He strikes me more as somebody who spent too much time with a doting grandmother. All that smiley, boneless joking & self affirmation. Only a gran could positively reinforce that shit. Awful person.

Well he was born pre-mature.......which sounds like a good case of doting.

He was also 6' by the age of 13....so its a combination of being a bully and being a bully who gets away with things.

    Spoiled brat.

    We shall see soon enough.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

There is a phenomenon in the sports media in Britain, everyone has to "large it up" and be "sexy" {by Sexy the Press means...outrageous or flash}.

Fury takes it quite a bit too far.

    As does this Ring EmCee.

He thinks he's the fastest heavyweight in the world

I wonder if it was his own uppercut that he didn't see coming that's convinced him of this.

I read about the non-PPV nature of Khan vs McCloskey, and while I applaud it, its only because the British Public won't pay for it. They needn't waste their time making a virtue out of a necessity.

And Fury vs Rahman not happening IS bad news, no matter how it goes down in the Halls of Montezuma.
