On Thursday, Roy Jones will hold the first press conference with Lebedev. Then Jones will continue to prepare for fight in the USA. “I am very happy to be here in Russia, I love the exoticism and adventure so I am here. Lebedev is a strong boxer, but I don’t advise him to underestimate me. I coming to win,†warned Jones. I guess Germany is not as exotic or adventurous!
Lebedev has a pretty ideal style for Roy to look good against. It's an absolute tightrope walk though.

That all happened years ago. Its hardly an update to tell people 21 years later that he had been born prematurely :laugh11: !!!!!!!
Hut, surely you don't think Roy has a chance of beating Lebedev? Sure he's not very good, but he's a cruiserweight, half decent punch, and Roy is utterly shot. Lebedev only has to land a half decent shot on the chin and Roy gets KO'd again.
Seriously, ANY fight that Roy has these days makes me nervous. The guy has far exceeded his shelf life.
Lebedev doesn't apply pressure. He stands there at long range waiting for you to come to him. And he's very hittable. And pretty slow. Honestly Roy is shot, but Lebedev might be the Valuev to Roy's Holyfield.....ie that one last guy at world level who's just so stylistically suited to an old shot fighter than he can make him look good one last time. If Lebedev lands anything it's over, and he probably will, just saying, it won't be as big a miracle as it looks on paper if Roy flukes a win.
I guess so. I can't really imagine this version of Roy beating any somewhat capable, younger, ranked fighter. Especially a bigger fighter. But I guess it's possible, there is some vague chance of it being like Holyfield vs Valuev. Only Holy was less shot and WAY tougher than Roy.
