Interesting, instead of working on his striking, Brock just seems to be working more on his ground control and BJJ game so it doesn't come to that, he's obviously very confident in his ability to secure takedowns.

Lesnar Needs to Learn BOXING & in Particular, Get Accustomed to TAKING SHOTS...Dude Can B the Greatest WRESTLER or BJJ Guy Ever, but it Won't Make a Bit of Difference if he Goes into PANIC Mode (as USUAL), the 1st Time Someone NAILS him in his Grill...

Absolutely. I hope he is training hands on the DL.

He Probably Is...Lesnar's VERY Driven & has Been HONEST w/Himself in Interviews that REED has Seen...

Dude Actually has a GOOD Chin in REED's Opinion...Most Heavy's Would've Been UNCONCIOUS After that Ass Whipping Cain Put on him, but Brock was Still "There" so to Speak, Throughout the Fight...Hate to Word it this Way, but Dude "Bitches Up" the Instant he Gets Hit Though...Nobody LIKES to Get Hit, but Lesnar Obviously has to Get More COMFORTABLE w/Getting Hit...

I would prefer to hear about Lesnar training with Howard Davis at American Top Team and destroying sparring partners in stand up.

Vinny Magalhaes is refuting this story, saying he never rolled with Lesnar and is not sure Lesnar was ever at Xtreme Couture.

Does anyone else find it suspicious that Lesnar caught Griffin in an armbar 3 times in 2 minutes.

Griffin is far more solid on the ground to let that happen especially against a guy that has limited BJJ..

You should find out who Forrest Management is and ask them if there is any comment from Forrest on it. Say you represent fightbeat and had some questions. Im serious.

    Something like this...

"Hi my name is (?)... I'm with Fightbeat.com. I'm looking for some reaction to a story that was run on MMAmania this week. A fighter named Jay Heiron says Forrest was arm-barred three times in two minutes by Brock Lesnar at Couture's gym... wondering if there's any truth to that?"

Even if you don't get Forrest himself, his reps might come back with a statement and you can run it as Team Griffen denies armbars.

Or shit, say they don't get back... Team Griffin won't comment on Lesnar Armbars

Would be interesting to do in the future but on this one it is pointless. Jay Hieron has already indicated that he didn't say any of those thing in an interview.

So let's pretend I'm Big Nog.

"Yes, Junior has been knocked out in almost every sparring session recently. We put one guy in with him and they knock him out. We revive Junior and throw another guy in with him and he knocks him out. We repeat all day."

So now let's put it in an article on the home page.

    Crazy...

You'd think if this is absolutely fabricated, someone would make an official statement on it, not post about it on twitter. Sure seems like BS to me though.

Yeah, there's a lot of trash passing as journalism on the ol' internet.

Being at xtreme couture could be great for him if he can retain info quickly

Training with your boys in some small town just doesnt cut it anymore, especially when youre so far behind

And he's surrounded by wrestlers at his gym...

It's got to be tough trying to pick it up at 33 years old especially when guys like Cain, Shane and JDS are so far ahead.

He DOESN'T Even Need to Become Terribly GOOD @ Boxing, he just Needs to Get USED to Being Hit so he Can Lose Some of the BITCHassness that Sets In from Taking Shots...

Exactly.. He just needs to spar openly with his partners throwing back at him...

In reality, his striking isn't as bad as it's made out to be, but it's almost as if he's regressed since the Couture and Herring fights. He KO'd Couture with a punch, dropped Herring, Dropped Mir. I don't really think it's horrible striking that is the problem, if anything it's is defense that needs work.

I really think that the only reason that he was able to knock them down was they weren't expecting it. They were all anticipating the takedown and got surprised. Not so much that his hands are even decent.

I agree Bob, his technique is horrible. his punches look more like "reaches"than jabs or crosses. I think the only way Brock gets better at standup is if he took a good year layoff and worked with "stand up gym" or trainer. I can't see this happening.

He doesnt need a year, but he should be working on it all the time.

  26. jarhead

probably, but at least 6 months. nothing but striking. hands and feet

I understand. I guess im just saying that even if Lesnar took 1 month and focused and boxing, it would show such a huge improvement over what he has now. especially because he is a quick learner.

exactly..his training camps should be elusively stand up

He didn't KO Couture with a punch. Watch the ending. He's basically hammerfisting him like a 3-year-old playing the bongos with his fists.

Yeah but that was a result of a punch.
