    Ruas definitely.

    From the early vale tudo days i'd say Pedro Rizzo is also worth mentioning - not surprising since he was a student of ruas

    re Pat Smith - i was a big fan too. Loved his comeback at UFC 6 when he booted thst dude off his feet within the first few seconds of the bout. I read that he faked stomach cramps to get out of the semi-final with Taktarov though, which lead to Macias stepping in and throwing the fight

    Yeah, Pat looked fine to me after his easy win in the first round.

    I love the look on Taktarov's face he beat Macias. "Are you fucking kidding me?" :lol:

    You'd never mistake him for well rounded... but if we're talking purely guys that could fight standing and on the ground, Tank Abbott's background was, if I remember correctly, collegiate wrestling.

    Yep he was a college wrestler. And he was very round.
