This ENHANCES Roy's Legacy...SERIOUSLY... 1nce Again, Antonio Tarver is FOLLOWING in Roy's Footsteps...Tarver Really had NO Viable Bouts on the Horizon, so he Elects to Fight the Last Guy to KO Roy Jones...N w/2 DEFEATS to the Man, Roy STILL Casts a SHADOW Over Tarver... REED:bears:
Which Means the Tarver-Green Winner &/or Bernard Hopkins will B Looking to Fight Lebedev, or Whatever his Name is, N the Future...Roy Legacy Lives VICARIOUSLY Thru Others... REED:mj:
i obviously was never the jones jr fan u are/were reed. but damn. its sad to see him still fighting and losing to guys who wouldnt have landed nary a shot on him at his peak
No Doubt, Neil...That's why REED REACHES for POSITIVE Angles to Discuss in Roy Jones Topics... REED:doh:
the thing with Roy - I can understand the worldwide tour at this stage of his career/life, if it were purely for money. The Green fight was a nice payday, more than he would've received anywhere in the states. But he's not making very much for the Lebedev fight, at least from what I've read. So that's the part I don't get, why the hell he'd take that fight under those circumstances. As for Tarver... if we have to see him fight again, I'd rather it be something like this than as the latest fatass American heavyweight.
Because Australia has lots of big boxing events on Wednesdays. Fairly certain that Green-Jones also took place on a Wednesday.
Roy: It was Wednesday. I thought lot of people in the arena for a press sparring and suddenly he hit me. Hmmmmm. Just thinking Sauerland said they are looking for a sixth fighter, an American for their Super Six. Tarver is still with Showtime, who would need at least one big name in that thing. He can´t get the Klitschko before 2012 (if ever), so might he jump at three guaranteed paydays at Cruiserweight after the Green fight? I´m sure he could negotiate a little extra with Showtime compared to the other fighters. Not saying Showtime would be interested in the whole tournament, but probably Tarver, the semis and the final.
yea well, i guess i can't complain too much (not that i plan on watching this fight) considering ncaa football and basketball finals are usually on a week day as well.
Yeah always on Wed. They are 17hrs ahead and this makes the news hit the states bout mid week. I like the fight. Tarver is a master boxer and a bigger man than Green, but at his age the travel and time zone will play a big part. Both have good skill and good pop! How could you not like this fight?! Someone is going done!!!:warning:
Its boxing incest. Its Roys Daddy vs Roys Son vs Roys Daddy. I wouldn't be surprised if Roy himself comes out of this with a win.
Because the weekend is the time both the AFL and Rugby hold their games. Boxing can't compete against those sports in Australia.
