    Repeat of the Montiel fight.

Winning the fight Hasegawa is caught by a single punch in the 4th round and knocked out again.

The odds reflected that possibility. Nice to see Gonzalez win a big fight.

The odds dropped big time as the fight approached. Gonzalez was somewhere around 3-1 underdog earlier in the week, then was all the way down to +150 last night.

Good for him, glad to see him continue to pick up the pieces in his career.

I wish I got in on the 3-1:crying: I just saw the odds 2 days ago and made a small bet.

I wonder why? Probably because Gonzalez beat Montiel and all the distractions and problems in Japan. 3-1 was a bit much. Anyway a great result for Bob Arum. So who gets to pick up the WBC belt? Gamboa or JuanMa?

It's funny because not too long ago Harold Lederman was calling Hasegawa a top 5 P4P fighter.

Gonzalez beat Montiel five years ago, though, and Montiel was nothing like the fighter he had since become.

Arum doesn't do much business with Gonzalez' handlers (Pueblo Promotions). In fact, Gonzalez has always been more of a Golden Boy fighter than anything else, until recent years. I don't think Pueblo will offer him up for very cheap, certainly not against either of those guys.

Hasegawa was a legit P4P fighter until running into Montiel last year.

WTF I have never seen anyone wobble due to a bodyshot. I need to watch this again. Am I blind? Looks like he hits him in the stomach with a single shot, not even a liver shot. What a strange KO.

That's what I thought too. Watch the replay at the end. You'll see it.

I watched it four times now. It´s a single punch to the stomach. He gets up and his legs are wobbly.

    Watch the 13:00 mark.

No, it's a punch to the face right on the chin. Hasegawa moved right into it. Great timing on Jhonny's part.

Yeah, I watched it live this morning and was sure it was a right hand to the body that dropped Hasegawa. When he got up on shaky legs, I was like WTF and thought maybe he had injured himself going down. But the replay clearly shows the punch landed on the chin.

Yes you guys are right, you can see it in the replay. I watched it in real time four times and still couldn´t see it. Last time I wanted to see a replay of a KO I watched 15 minutes of post game crap in Japanese and they didn´t show one replay, but now that you pointed me at it. Clear as day. Very strange. LOL.

It was a good punch, although certainly not the biggest one-punch knockout I've ever seen.

Hasegawa gets up with a distateful look on his face and does a Bruce Seldon impression.

    j/k
