Man, that's a good question. I'm not sure. I think it honestly stems from TLC hyping him.

In this case, it also has to do with me hoping Jardine looks good. He is being given almost no chance.

Unlike Aoki, I think Mousasi is a very talented guy and could be among the best in the world if his take down defense improves.

But I still hope Jardine beats him!!

Isn't it funny how you start to not like guys because of TLC?? :: I used to somewhat like Aoki, now I just root for him to lose. Same with Overeem:: I agree with you on Mousasi, he almost needs a training camp with Lesnar's gym of nothing but wrestlers and big motherfuckers at that.

It is dude. I am right there with you on Aoki. Honestly some of his submission wins were amazing. But when TLC started calling him the best grappler in MMA I just started rooting for him to lose.

 

Haha, yep. I used to quite like Reem (hey I'm a hardcore boxing fan, of course I like good strikers) but since seeing TLC's hypocrisy in denigrating other people's competition yet acting like Reem is on this legendary run for the ages, of course you're going to want to see him lose ::

Hey Mex, have you ever watched Mousasi? He had a decent amatuer boxing career, his stand up is real clean(obviously by MMA standards).

 

Mousasi is the man, probably my fave mma fighter right now.

Not only in MMA, he beat Musachi and Kiotara in k-1 bouts, wich were both huge wins, especially Kyotara as he is in his prime and arguable top 10 k-1 fighter

 

Moussassi is doing ok, but he should stop low kicking Jardine, he gets countered with the right hand every time he tries.

Well, like it or not folks, Nick Diaz is one of the top fighters in the division.

 

Something tells me the Zuffa boys give Diaz a bonus for ridding them of the sticky Paul Daley situation.

 

I scored it a draw as well. Very simply I gave Jardine a two point round in the first. I thought he won the round with 4 take downs and got the extra point for the foul. Then Mousasi got 1 point rounds in 2 and 3 hence a draw.

 

Diaz is the man.

 

Not impressed by Mousasi a bit. I can see scrubby ass Mo humping him to a decision again.

 

Still too cautious and still unable to even accidentally stop a take down.

I honestly don't think he belongs in anyone's top 10 list of 205 pound fighters.

I seriously think Henderson would crush him.

melendez beating up kwajiri didn't mean much to me. he might be very good, but strikeforce competition sucks. diaz is fun to watch and appears to be the best boxer in his weight class, but he's still going to be in a world of trouble when he faces guys like gsp, fitch, and koschek who imo will take him down and hold him there.

 

I wouldn't just assume that they can hold him down.

I wonder if the knock on Diaz about only throwing pitty pat punches was quelled finally? Those body shots tonight were as good as it gets in MMA.

 

Youre probably right. I am not a Jardine fan......at all. In fact, my bias took over and i lost objectivity. The TD's in Rd1 were a big difference maker for Jardine. It was a fight that Mousasi should have handled so much easier. I keep wanting to see him succeed in dominant fashion but DAMN he needs alot more work

 

I agree 100% that Jardine didn't do anything with the takedowns in Round 1 but they really did win him the round because Mousasi started very slow and didn't land much.

But as I said when Jardine was announced as the replacement, he is a difficult guy to finish if you don't bomb him out early.

It looks like a rematch will happen and Jardine will get a full training camp. I'm happy that Keith gets another big fight. The dude took this fight on short notice and never quit despite getting bloodied and battered.

 

This is a perfect example of why meaningless takedowns are soooo overvalued in the sport. Mousasi was in complete control of the fight. Even though Jardine was able to take him down, he was able to do NOTHING with them. No way Jardine deserved a draw.


And Mousasi-SHAME ON YOU! Work on your fucking TDD!
