    Hey Jake!!!!

How freaking much does Lemieux remind you of Matthew Hilton, another Canadian?

Matthew Hilton is one of my favorite fighters and Lemieux is so much like him. If that's so, get ready for the roller-coaster career.

I apologise for taking this thread off on a tangent but I love talking bikes and had to respond.

Don't get me wrong, I agree the 4's are awesome bikesl but prefer them for track use rather then the street. The power is just too high in the the rev range, the extremely powerful brakes and geometry that is extremely biased towards the front end (for high speed cornering) just makes me feel like I'm rolling around on something that I'm only using 1/10th of it's full potential. For the street, The V-twin's low end punch makes twisting the throttle at street legal speeds a more grin inducing experience. Of course this is just my preference, I know plenty of people (including my mechanic) who do nothing but jugg (I know, middle school slang) on twins and love 4's.

Not to be a showoff or anything but below is me at JenningsGP in Jennings FL, as you can see, I love inline 4's as well.

that's waht I was telling my friend who's a casual boxing fan. That he was reminding me of Davey's brother Matthew ( everyone know Davey in Quebec but Matthew is pretty much forgotten ). Just that Matthew had far more heart and chin than Lemieux.

I think Lemieux will (should) have an excellent career. It is concerning that he fell apart with so much time left in the fight, but damn does he look good when he's fresh. He very much reminds me of Tyson. His ability to duck Rubio's counters was very impressive. His handspeed was very impressive. His punch selection was impressive.

He could have won the first 5 rounds easily by doing half as much and then presumably would have had plenty of gas to go the remaining 7 rounds. Stamina/pacing is (usually) a fixable flaw. His corner may have done him a great service by stopping the fight as early as they did. However, they did him a disservice by not slowing him down.

Some fighters never recover from their first loss, though, and the burden will be on Lemieux to show that he can.

He quit. He's a bum. In America, we fight on, even if it means death. He quit. Canada is in Europe, that's a part of France near Russia. They are all the same over there. Weak.

I agree completely. Did you notice how ironic it was before the fight when Teddy gave his opinion of Mike Tyson ( In relevance to McBride) saying that Tyson was an outstanding puncher but didn't know how to stand up for himself when he faced someone who could either take or deal with that punch and stand back up to him. Is this not EXACTLY what happened to David? David faced a fighter for the first time in his carrier that was tough enough and good enough to deal with his awesome offensive skills (like Tyson) and was able to stand back up to him and start dishing out some pain. He had that same lost look on his face halfway through the 6th when Rubio really started connecting that Tyson had against Douglas, Holyfield, and Lewis.

David is still very young and first thing he needs to do is spar with bigger tougher guys who can hurt him and learn how to clinch, recover and make adjustments.

I thought it was a good stopage by the corner. Rubio was just going to be teeing off from there on out and they knew it.

Lemieux will never be a great fighter. Guys that come up the way he did, once their power can't take care of the oppnent they get worn down themselves. Any top 5 middleweight wipes his ass with Lemieux.

I remember these videos! This is David when he was about 15 years old. I've tried to keep up with him over the years but lost him and then someone told me where to find him, so now I caught up with him again.

As good as a Canadian amateur as David was, he was not very good in international competition. I thought he would eventually fix that flaw.
