Out manned is damn right. That damn Diaz doesn't play it safe does he ? I read in a report that he even called Daley a bitch at the staredown or right before it or something. Love it. Take somebody like Daley who is mma's Mike Tyson as far as stand up and power go. Call him a bitch to his face. Stand and bang with him and knock him the fuck out. I can't wait to find Daley's post fight comments. I wonder what he said...

    Yep...

They Approached Each Other for the Ref's Instructions & LITERALLY Stood Face to Face, Foreheads TOUCHING, Until Big John Slightly Seperated them...Then, as Big John was Giving the Instructions, Diaz GLARED the Whole Time, Mouthing to Daley...REED Couldn't Make Out EXACTLY What Diaz Said, but the Word "Bitch" was Definitely IN the Sentence:lol:...

    Daley Simply Smiled Back...

Honestly I don't know how any fan of combat sports can not like Nick Diaz. The guy is just what fighting is all about.

Look at some of the subtle things from last night. First, he's in with one of the biggest punchers at 170 pounds and taunts him with his chin out and hands down.

Second, he pressed the pace and action from the opening bell. Foreman always said you don't follow a puncher. Diaz didn't just follow Daley, he pushed him back.

Third, Diaz was ripping body shots that would have made my boy Mike McCallum proud. His pace and body shots absolutely took everything from Daley, except his power, within 2 minutes.

Finally, Diaz never thought "I need to get a takedown". Even after being dropped, Diaz got up and went right at Daley. He beat Daley in a slugging match, which should NEVER happen. His stamina, and more importantly ability to recover like he was never hit, is beyond amazing in my book.

And Reed is right, if there were any first time MMA viewers that happened upon the Diaz-Daley fight last night, they are likely hooked on the sport now. It was just that good.

I've been a big fan of Nick Diaz ever since he smashed Lawler.

Yes he's a big of a thug/idiot etc, but how can you not like him as a fighter? He's superb.

After a lull in his career that saw him leave the UFC, it's been clear for a while he's one of the best in the world at his weight.

I knew Diaz would take more chances than he needed to in this fight, and not just turtle and look for a sneaky sub, but jesus, he literally showed NO RESPECT at all for Daley's power. Just marched forward for the most part, and ended up giving him a beating.

Definitely one of the best MMA fights for a while. Diaz doesn't disappoint.

That's what I loved. He made a feared striker like Daley literally run for his life for most of the round. He made him look like a bitch. Daley got a reality check and found out he's not the Alpha dog he thought he was...

Have you ever seen an MMA fighter recover so quickly from a big shot like Diaz from Daley's left hook?

It's not like Daley didn't land the same kind of shots that knocked out Scott Smith, Dustin Hazlett, Martin Kampmann, etc. Diaz just recovered like a cyborg.

And Nick's chin is just amazing. Here's a guy that took the best shots of Lawler, Gomi, Noons and Daley without going anywhere. His opponents better think of another way to beat him because he ain't getting knocked out.

Dude even FELL Facefirst to the Canvas, like a Dude who was BADLY Hurt...But like the Terminator or Jason Voorhees, Diaz QUICKLY Recovered...Daley Even Landed a Right Hand BOMB Seconds Before Falling to the Mat & Being Mounted for the Finish...

REED's Always Liked Nate Diaz a Bit Better, but Nick Diaz is DEFINITELY a BadAss...

REED Actually LIKES the Thuggish, STREET Mexican Vibe the Diaz's Have...Nick Even Smokes WEED...He's like a Character Out of "American Me" w/Fewer Tats & Less Facial Hair...Dude Should Wear a Bandana, Wife Beater T-Shirt & Sagging Dickie Pants to the Cage......

But The MAIN Thing is, he Sets Out to BACK UP his Attitude & Shittalk w/ACTION...

No fucking doubt. Big time reality check, everyone is scared of Daley's standup/power, he must have got a shock last night, just got out toughed and out manned.

Honestly, probably not. Daley has some proper power especially for MMA. You could see the recovery process in action, his head cleared in literally a couple of seconds.

I can't believe Nick is still only 27, younger than me, it seems like aeons ago I first saw him fight.

And honestly if you're Daley, where does that leave you? Stand up power is your only MMA asset and you just got destroyed by a guy that CHOSE to stand and bang with you.

Something tells me this is a far worse mental loss for Daley than the Koscheck deal.

Diaz is a fighters fighter. Not only do you have to have good technique/skill to beat him, but you also have to deal with his toughness and heart! Tall order for anyone at WW IMO.

What was TLC saying about this fight again? Lol

Nick Diaz is just a RARE bREED when it Comes to CHIN, TOUGHNESS & DETERMINATION...SURELY, Daley Realizes this...There's a SHORTLIST of Guys that Could Get Away w/Fighting Daley in the MANNER that Diaz did...LESS than a Handful...

Daley's Gonna Need a Confidence Builder for Sure, but @ just 28, REED Doesn't Think he's FINISHED Mentally or Otherwise...The BIGGER Question is, will he REMAIN on Strikeforce's Roster & what his Status Is if/when UFC Finally MERGES the Talent???...

Though he Got his AssKicked Last Night, Daley was PART of a Thrilling Fight...It's NOT like Diaz Dominated Every Second of the Round...Daley Actually PUSHED Diaz to the Degree that Nick had to Conjure Up a Superhuman Effort...There's a SLIVER of Solace that Daley Should Take in that, in REED's Opinion...

As much as Dana doesn't like him, he was licking his chops last night. You think deep down that Nick is hoping for GSP to roll over his homeboy Shields? :fightme:

I really don't think so. Those Ceasar Gracie dudes seem extremely close. I can't think of another gym with that kind of bond. I honestly think Nick will be hoping Shields chokes GSP out.

It does create an interesting situation though. Strikeforce is so limited that Tyrone Woodley is actually being mentioned as the next opponent for Diaz. I would love to see Zuffa allow guys like Kampmann or Fitch or Penn crossover and fight in Strikeforce.

Everyone talks about SF fighters in the UFC, but I see an opportunity for Zuffa to match UFC fighters with SF champions. Melendez could fight Guida, Pettis, Henderson, etc. without ever merging.

    agREED...

Dana has ALWAYS Come Across as a FAN of MMA 1st, Businessman 2nd...As a FAN, U have to APPLAUD Daley, even in a LOSING Effort...Though CLEARLY OUTMANNED, he Went Out on his Shield, Guns Blazing...& Though BRIEF, he had his Moments Too...

@ this Point, Daley's More of an ASSET to ANY MMA Company, than a Hindrance...If he Can Somehow Make Things "Right" w/Josh Koscheck, REED Doesn't See Any Reason why the UFC Should Hold a Grudge...But Obviously, Daley would have a ZERO Tolerance Policy...

You make good points. And maybe Daley will rationalize it like that. But I just get the impression after the Koscheck fight, that he honestly thought no one would survive trading with him.

Maybe he will shake if off. He should. The only thing he has to be ashamed about is not being in better condition.

I told TLC months ago that Daley is a lazy trainer and always has weight issues. Losing 12.5 pounds the 24 hours before the weigh-in played a significant role in Daley gassing last night. Diaz applies pressure like no one else in MMA but Daley was clearly gassed too easily in my opinion.

WOW!!!...REED didn't Know that...12 1/2 Pounds is like 4 Diaperweight Divisions in Boxing:lol:...Or, like LITERALLY Shrinking from Boxing Welterweight to LIGHTWEIGHT, in 24 Hours...Dude is SHORT Too, so it's just a LACK of Discipline that Put him in that Predicament...

Oh Well, if Last Night Didn't HUMBLE Daley Enough to Get SERIOUS w/his Weight, NATHAN will...

Yep, that fight was Grease Gate # 1. Diaz said Sanchez felt greasy. Watch the fight and it looks like Sanchez has Jerry Curl juice in his hair or some shit.

Nevertheless, it was a great fight. Sanchez was far from dominant. It was extremely close and Diego won due to some take downs. It was a wild affair. If you haven't seen it, look for it on You Tube or UFC on Demand.
