Yeah for sure. The day of the NIGHTMARE has come and gone...... but dont count out the fact that Diego has equal toughness and determination as Nick. That rematch in todays MMA landscape would be absolutely relevant. Difference this time around is that Nick "i dont give a fuck" quotient is greater than Diego the DREAM's

You don't need toughness to beat Diaz you have to fight smart and hold him down.

Considering he has 8 subs from his back, being on top of him isn't a picnic either.
As far as smart goes, Daley could have fought like Einstein and still lost BECAUSE Diaz is too tough and well conditioned.

Where did I say you need toughness?

When Daley knocked Diaz on his face, it reminded me of the Hendo vs Jake Shields fight. That was a great round of action. great win for Diaz. This guy has to go to the UFC. Daley is the best guy SF had at 170. There is nobody in SF I want to see Diaz fight at this point.

Melendez looked like a damn killer in there too, the japan killer!!! I'd love to see him against Eddie Alverez or in the UFC. He's already beaten Guida, who's basically the gate keeper to a title shot in the UFC. Melendez is a damn good fighter.

I saw no evidence of Daley gassing, you are the only one I have seen say anything like this. IMO, gas had nothing to do with it, he got beat down. Those body shots got him good.

Really? There were a couple of times where Daley basically reeled away from Diaz and looked exhausted to me.

I will re-watch it. And it probably had a lot to do with the body shots and the pace as much as anything else.

In the first round? Even the guys with the worst gas tanks don't gas in one round. Body shots!!! Look at Daley wilt when ever Diaz lands one!
