All decent at the time he fought them, especially Shane,.. but Marquez wasn't a quality opponent, it was opportunistic stuff,.. Marquez is a REALISTIC example of what happens when a smaller man tries to move up divisions adding as much as is possible in the limited time-frame he had, and was consequently soft and burdened.

With Floyd's training, your able to see the incentive from his perspective why he prefers drug clean contests, because after viewing multiple videos, he'd have to be very very confident that he trains harder than anybody in boxing.

 

Floyd can seriously whip anyone up to middleweight he is just too good and PAC would get dominated like a hoe

other than martinez or perhaps pacquiao i dont think there is even anyone who'd be favored over him at or below 160lbs.

 

Felix Sturm would beat him. Of course, Sturm wouldn't get the decision, not in America, but Floyd wouldn't be able to do a damn thing with Sturm, any more than Oscar was. And I'm not even a fan of Sturm.

LOL, ok dude. Andy Lee is worse than garbage. And you're comparing Floyd Jr to a fat Oscar? Oscar was never able to deal with a jab, even when he was in shape. Floyd is an expert at dealing with the jab, and a mediocre one-handed 160 lb fighter like Sturm would certainly not be doing any "ass kicking." For that matter, when has Sturm ever kicked ANYONE'S ass? He couldn't even put away Oscar De La Villechaise.

 

He moved to 147 to pursue Oscar. Then had no reason to move back down because he could dominate everyone he fought at 147, anyway. Especially because welterweight is generally a more marketable division than junior welterweight. Basically exactly the same story as Pac.

 

Not the same story. Pacquiao moved straight from lightweight to WW to fight Oscar in his FIRST fight.

Floyd fought Hatton when he had been at welter for 2 years, and hadn't made 140 in two years.

I think it's safe to say Floyd moved up because he was having trouble making 140, seeing as he didn't fight Oscar for another 3 fights, almost 2 years later.

I'm amazed you can't see this to be honest Hut, that Floyd probably couldn't even make 140 when he fought Hatton (having fought at 150 something in his previous fight), and that weighing in at 147 would have greatly benefited Floyd rather than Hatton, who has always been able to make 140 comfortable, and even after Floyd never weighed a pound over 140.

Like I said, ultimately Floyd is a better fighter and would have beaten Hatton at any weight (like when Floyd could make 140) but to say that it was a 140 pound fight, and that 147 gave Floyd no advantage is insane.

 

Floyd moved up because he wanted to fight Oscar. Just look at his in ring weights when he was at 140.
