Just...lame. You're a good guy, but your jokes suck. I was never going to post the result, I was just yanking his chain, so to speak.
I never really expected McCloskey to win, I just wanted him to do what he has been doing all along, and thats make Khan look like a total novice, at times. McCloskey is cut, commentators practically begging for it to be stopped on a cut..... Its over, on a cut caused by an accidental headbutt. What a butt-fuck of a night.
Thats a fucking joke, and thats the second time it has happened with Khan.....its a crock of shit, same thing happened with Barrera, get past the 4th, stop it on cut, go to the cards.....:shit: :shit: :shit: :shit:
Yeah, fighters fight with worse cuts all the time. Bullshit stoppage. I was thinking the same thing Hut, it's already stopped bleeding ::
Nothing bizarre mate............why leave Khan in there for another 5 rounds looking like a blind novice with the worlds smallest fly-swat chasing an invisible gnat?
Incredible. Can anyone remember the last time a fight got stopped on the FIRST inspection of a fight which had occurred only seconds previous??? Compare this shit to the Barrera vs Khan fight, where the cut bled profusely and they waited and waited till they got to the end of the 4th and then, miraculously, stopped it.
I don't want to go into the old "he was about to moider him" routine, but its so obviously the case that McCloskey was taking the guy deep with a view to executing his game plan. The same thing will happen with Bradley........fast start, clash of heads, stop the fight, go to the cards. Joke.
No, I actually can't think of another time they stopped a fight on FIRST inspection of an AVERAGE looking cut.
Hearn now threatening a complaint to the BBBofC. "Robbed by ineptitude, this is a hard brutal game, there are knocks in this game, you have to get on with it, I think he has been robbed by hard decisions, the ineptitude of the referee...the cut was insignificant...the fans have been robbed have been robbed of value in the same way Paul has been robbed of his chance".
In fairness to McCloskey, who DID lose every round, it was clear he had resigned himself to that being the dynamic, yet hadn't become disheartened. He still thought he could win, he'd changed strategy to slugger. It was basically a Toney-Nunn dynamic there (I mean that with no reference or prediction to what would have happened if it'd continued, chances are 95% Khan would have won, but we should have gotten to see)
Steve Collins: "McCloskey was unfairly denied the chance. This is not tennis. McCloskey was giving him a nightmare." Robin Reid: "There was only 30 seconds left....I have never seen it before, where a doctor is brought in to the ring with only 30 seconds left" Jim Rosenthal: "I have seen worse than that" McCloskey: "I would have gotten stronger, he was tired.....I am in shock here...Jesus.....Khan was as pale as a ghost at the weigh in and he can't make the weight...you watch the 5 rounds he is nowhere near a pfp fighter".
Precisely...and its not the first time this has happened. The guy is a protected klutz, swinging like a bar-room drunk....
Agreed. Yes very unlikely Paul won have won, considering he can't punch, but he WASN'T discouraged, and should have had his fucking chance. The fans should have been given their money's worth for a full, fair fight too. Complete bullshit.
