Who knows how much Floyd has left now.

Manny would light Ortiz up and stop him. Though it would be a dangerous fight for Pac.

Pac would have iced Berto within 4 .

    Awesome performance by Ortiz.

I feel bad for not pickng him now, I knew he was much better than Berto, I just thought he had to fall apart mentally again, mid fight.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. Nothing about Ortiz's tactics were quuestionable, and the likelihood he used PEDs is no more than for Berto.

Fact is, Berto doesn't know how to fight. He's athletic and can time the occasional clean counter, but basically, he doesn't know how to fight.

Yep, he's a basic fighter with very fast hands and a nice counter right. That's it. Other than that he is totally average at world level.

Ortiz is a much better fighter and I thought he totally dominated the fight.

irish seems like a guy who isnt much of a boxing fan. his life needs more direction. i suggest finding elsewhere to spend much of his days than on a website dedicated to a sport he is so cynical of and seems not to enjoy, even at its most entertaining.

I am not......if you check back you will see I wanted Ortiz to win, quite a while back.

But, perversely, I am just brutally fucking objective.

Ortiz cheated, is probably on gear, outweighed his man, and was "fah-fah" by the 6th round.

The only palatable aspect of his win is that Berto is Ortiz-Lite, pardon the pun.

I just gave up counting......every fucking time he moved in he billy-goated Ortiz in the face with his skull. EVERY FUCKING TIME.

As for HBO...well we know what side their bread is buttered.

Yeah Irish, I like you, but come the fuck on and chill out.

We just witnessed a great fight, and an awesome performance by Ortiz, no time for negativity.

Nothing to say Ortiz was on PEDs any more than Vitali was against Solis, he just put in a career best performance and didn't wilt mentally as expected.

Neil, I promise, if I could sit down and have a beer with you, you would see where I am coming from, much easier. The basic format of text and forum-speak doesn't do my feelings justice- It seems to me that in this sport all you need to do is make the correct promotional and managerial propitiations, and the correct chemical adjustments, and its all rosie fucking lee, baby.

I asked that question before the fight, as to what sort of a guy Berto was. It seems your summation is accurate. He's a limited guy. But he made a mistake in the 6th, if he doesn't make that, he maybe wins the fight.

First 6 rounds were up there with most of these sort of poor-mans Hagler-Hearns fests we have had, very entertaining, with both men showing balls, heart and skill- breath-taking fare, albeit on a slightly lower skill-level than anything Hearns-Hagler offered up.

After the 6th, it degenerated into a butt-fest, hold-fest, with lots of "fah-fah" from Ortiz. The drama ebbed away and it become a grinding affair, with intermittent class from both men which did little to interrupt the overall maul the fight had become.

Ortiz, a man who quit at 140 versus a guy who Khan and, according to you guys, Morales got the better of, comes off a draw, moves up a gear, comes into the ring weighing the same as, and looking like, a Middleweight. That kind of kills the amusement for me, for openers.

Go back and check the posts- I wanted Ortiz to win from way back but that changed once I observed what I interpret as, sham. Its like motor-racing. Some guys have better sponsors, better fuel, better tires, so they win. Bollox to that.

If I want to see guys win fights because they have size advantages, I will go elsewhere.

Doesn't Ortiz winning a DECISION just shit on all of that? I thought it was a sham in Berto's favor as well but the result proved us wrong and in a good way.

Suprising upset here,.. I thought, and still think Ortiz is worse than Collazo, and Berto impressed me with his tactics under adversity against Collazo in a great fight, he fought through a constant body assault and finished stronger.

Haven't seen this Ortiz fight yet, but I've seen Ortiz before, so I'm stunned by this result.

Collazzo couldn't punch yet hurt Berto. ortiz can punch and kept Berto hurt.

Also, for all the shit talked about Ortiz's heart in the 6th round what he did should forever erase that talk.

Ortiz was butting? Give me a fucking break.

That was a fantastic fight. Through 7 or 8 rounds, one of the absolute best I've seen in years.

Turns out Ortiz does have heart. That was a KO punch in round 6.

I figure you'll change your mind on Collazo being better than Ortiz after watching.
