I think its safe to say he just got over the draining period and came in and fought at a weight that was more natural to him.

Just for what it is worth......McCloskey, out of experience, was probably waiting to be brought back to his corner so the cornerman could dab it and the doctor take another look, as is nigh-on tradition in the sport when a cut emerges during the round.
