Fight should have came off, what would have happened if it did?

Prime for prime, I'd take Quartey by decision.

Quartey was an incredibly stupid fighter sometimes, but he has all the tools you want against Shane... phenomenal jab, good hard right behind it... he could definitely decision Mosley, he has the tools... but I don't know if he has the head... I could see Mosley winning the majority of the second half and making it close and controversial

Agreed. I think it's a close decision either way. Ike would have a lot of rounds in the bank but Mosley would make a late surge. I always wanted to see this fight, even when both were past their best @ 154.

Great call on Quartey being a stupid fighter at times.

He was a beast coming up through the ranks when he took out Crisanto Espana, who I thought was a real powerful fighter with a style similar to Carlos Monzon.

I thought the night he won the title from Espana was his best form ever, and I'd take him over Shane without a doubt in a wild one.

I never was a huge fan of Ike's, but respected and admired his ability and toughness a great deal as he had a big fighting heart.

He is remembered best by losing a close decision to Oscar in a fight he could have pulled out had he let his hands go more.

Ike was a cocky kid, and my favorite fight of his was with Jose Luis Lopez.

It's effective lateral movement & defence that gave Shane problems, IMO, not a jab. I'd favour Shane here.
