Also, I think Pac and Floyd are about comparable in terms of speed at 147. Floyd has definitely lost speed from when he was at 130-135, though.

You said he was just in the pocket now.

Floyd doesnt even try to throw his punches as fast as he can. He just puts the shots out there. Its clear that if he wanted to throw faster he would. He also has no reason to go any faster. His opponents arent quick enough. When he fights pac, you will see him move much quicker than before.

... by a point or two.

I had it 114-113, Marquez for what it's worth, but no real problem with the outcome. Pretty sure most who had Marquez winning will say the same.

I also had Floyd beaing Oscar... I think 116-112. Been a while and have no desire to ever again watch that POS of a fight. The only thing I remember was being surprised that it was a split decision... until scanning message boards and being even more surprised that the outcome stirred up a huge debate.

In either scenario, neither is the other's leftover. That was my only point in all of that.

And before you argue it... I understand Floyd's claim in regards to Hatton and Shane/ However, there was a necessity for Pac fighting Hatton (who was the 140 lb champ at the time), whereas fighting Shane now is pointless, other than scratching "finally face an African-American fighter" off of his bucket list.

Yeah, he pretty much just does stay in the pocket.

And your second paragraph is nonsense.

Mosley hands were clearly faster in the first few rounds before he slowed down and Floyd took over.

Floyd still throws that counter right as fast as he can, you can tell, and half of his jabs too (though half his jabs yes, he just pushes them out there).

Judah was clearly faster than Floyd, especially handspeed, and was actually winning by the halfway stage. Was Floyd purposefully being slower there too?

Don't be ridiculous GF. What you're saying is absurd.

Floyd being slower at 147 is normal, it happens. There are almost no fighters that retain their speed as they move up. Floyd is bigger, older, and heavier, and thus is nowhere near as quick and mobile as he was at 130.

haha, i remember being on the phone w/ carlos guzman after floyd-oscar and we both agreed that the decision was shit. cupey was saying shit like this is what's wrong w/ the sport yadiyadiya...and then i realized that he thought oscar won the fight. haha.

it was a 8-4, 9-3 type of fight. the rounds that mayweather won were mostly one-sided while i had hard time giving oscar 4 rounds.

both marquez-pac fights were close and some of the rounds were so competitive that i can't argue that marquez was robbed in either one.

A point or 2 is still a win. Its not different than winning a football game 28-27 or a basketball game 88-87.

How do you go toe to toe and stay in the pocket?
    :atu:
Judah is faster than Ortiz. I dont understand what Judah has to do with it.

Being slower at a higher weight is normal. But dont sit there and tell me Ortiz and Shane are faster than Floyd.

Marquez vs Pacquiao 2 I scored to Pacquiao by 1 point.

It was VERY close though, and I thought Marquez might get the decision. That fight really could have gone either way.

Pacquiao Vs Marquez 1 was a different story, Pacquiao was the one robbed with a draw, he won that fight clear as day.

Floyd Vs Oscar I scored for Floyd, but Oscar was competitive, he certainly didn't get dominated.

Are you joking? Going toe to toe IS staying in the pocket, essentially. Floyd stayed in the pocket Vs Shane and just countered the shit out of him, and barely got hit. Staying in the pocket = staying up close or inside.

You've been watching too much MMA, or you're losing your marbles.

What Judah has to do with it is disproving your nonsensical theory that Floyd is just as fast as he was at 130 but just "chooses not to show it"

And do you not understand the difference between reaction speed and handspeed? In the first 3 rounds, Shane's single shots were slightly faster than Floyds, but Floyd was still getting the better of exchanges because his reaction speed is so quick, and he pulls the trigger so quick compared to a borderline shot fighter pushing 40, like Mosley.

Yeah, to be honest that's the only fight I think Floyd lost. I thought Castillo won close but clear, and Floyd won the rematch close but clear.

Can a mod please change the title of EVERY FUCKING THREAD in the damn place to
    "Argue about Floyd"

You could take it a step further and just rename the forum to ArgueAboutFloyd.com

    This is ridiculous.

What part of my last post do you not comprehend?

And it's not a win if it's coming from anyone other than the three judges. Two of the three had Pacquiao winning, so not sure what you're arguing. Not like media gets it right all of the time either.

Dan Rafael called Floyd-DLH "a pretty darn good fight." His job is actually to report, not even to score a fight. Gonna trust his judgment if that's what he saw take place?

I must have been watching a different fight. I saw floyd fighting him in the center of the ring, not backing down.

Typical response. Cant just have a different opinion. Let me guess. Joking right?

I said floyd is just as fast as he was at 130?

Yeah i understand what the difference is. What you dont understand is the difference between being fast and showing their speed. If you think shane is faster than Floyd in either reaction or handspeed, you are the delusional one.

I honestly don't remember. The only thing I recall from Lampley was his on-air plea at the end of the night for boxing fans to not stray to MMA.
