The point remains, WW Floyd's PHYSICAL speed is nothing special.

I'm not sure why Floyd fans get their panties in a bunch about it. If anything it's a compliment, as it proves unlike Roy, he doesn't even NEED to be exceptionally fast to be one of the best fighters in the world.

And yes, Shane has always had faster single shots than Floyd, you'll find most people agree with me. The difference is Shane isn't a particularly fast thinker in the ring, and Floyd pulls the trigger much faster, and his defensive reactions are MUCH quicker obviously.

I thought Castillo won that fight clear as day. Even when I watched it as it happened, I was a Floyd fan, I thought Castillo won.

Castillo was the champ, the aggressor, landed more punches, what else could you want?

Shane has always had very fast single punches. He's slowed down a LOT now but still has fast hands in the early going.

Watch his WW fights with Diaz, Oscar, Taylor etc. His right hand is insanely fast, much faster than WW Floyd.

Even this version if Mosley in the first 2 or 3 rounds had a small edge in handspeed (just his straight right).

Also GF, you must be such a Floyd hater you haven't seen him fight for a few years, otherwise you would know that his speed and mobility has diminished a LOT compared to the Floyd of the lighter weights.

To stay on topic, I think Ortiz has his moments vs either Floyd or Pacquiao, but gets stopped by both of them.

Seemingly he's a better welter than 140 pounder though.

But the fight with Floyd would be a better match due to the crap Floyd would talk during the lead up to the fight. We'd get an Ortiz focused and angry along the lines of what we saw Saturday night.

Against Manny I think he'd get caught up in the "nice guy" crap and submit to his beating before the first bell rings.

Plus, Ortiz worked out at Wildcard and Roach knows him...I doubt there's much Roach and Manny would fear about that matchup.

But again...Manny + Top Rank + Ortiz + Golden Boy = not gonna happen.

A Mayweather fight is more likely.

 

No, I watched the Berto fight. I did not see the Juanma fight though.

 

I don't think Castillo landed more shots. I don't pay attention to Compubox as I think it's largely inaccurate. Castillo took forever to get going and gave away too many early rounds for me for score it for him. He throws a bunch of shots in the corner, Floyd avoids them all, and Jim Lampley says "Castillo lands a series of big shots!!!"

That said, I wish Castillo did get the nod. I think the "0" has made Floyd kind of a bitch.

 

Most of the time Toney doesn't back up. Toney stays inside and slips and counters.

Floyd doesn't mind being on the ropes by the way, he uses his shoulder roll BS all the time there.

I doubt you'll find many people arguing with me that prime WW Mosley, the guy that thrashed Diaz, Taylor, and fought Oscar had a clear handspeed advantage over WW Floyd.

Not only that but even this washed up version of Shane had a SLIGHT handspeed advantage in the early going.

Not that it did him much good because Floyd had a HUGE edge in timing, accuracy and reaction speed.

 

For him to win more rounds, which he didn't.

Scoring that fight for Castillo is code for admitting that you don't really know how to score a boxing match.

 

Prime Mosley def had faster hands than Floyd.
