I hate that fucking guy. I hate his face and I hate his voice. I feel like landing a meaty right cross square in his mouth.

Also, he either hates Pacquiao or he's a brainless chode.

He picked Plasterito over Pacquiao too.

Stupid pick, but I guess the logic could have been at the time that he was just TOO big, a step too far in size above guys like Oscar and Cotto.

But now Mosley too, after Pacquiao gave Plasterito the most savage beating in recent years?

The icing on top is comparing this fight to Bobby Womack against Yuri Foreman

He isn't picking fights as such, he's a gambler. He thinks the Mosley stoppage is vastly under priced and he's right. He's saying take advantage of that by straddling the Manny pick with Mosley by KO at 12-1 or whatever crazy prices are going.

My pick is Manny, and Im sure his is too, but when a guy hits as hard as Mosley does and a guy is as hittable with the right as Manny, 12-1 etc on a stoppage is just too long.

    I actually agree with that.

Manny can be very hard to hit, but he can also be very hittable, and Shane can still punch. 12-1 is a little long.

However he actually picked Plasterito and Shane, not just said they were good value bets.

It's not so much the picks that bother me, it's his fight analysis. The guy is a fucking retard.

He compares this fight to Wolak Vs Foreman, and also acts like Manny is the washed up fighter here saying "Manny is not the fighter he used to be at 122" etc. Well actually he's considerably better.

He's acting like Mosley needs to beat Pacquiao with energy and aggression. As if there's even a 0.0001% chance of happening.

I actually find his analysis to be fairly consistently on the money apart for his hard on for underdogs. He makes some very insightful points from time to time. I don't think this vid contains any.

I've never heard him say anything remotely insightful or clever.

Every vid I've seen of his is (almost) as retarded as this. He obviously thinks he's being very insightful though.

Have you actually thought about quite how absurd his analysis is for this fight? That Mosley needs to fight like Wolak and overwhelm Manny with activity?

The same Mosley who is almost 40 and gasses after a few rounds, against someone as fast and active and explosive as Pacquiao?

It's possibly the single most retarded fight analysis I've ever heard.

Mosley would get himself beaten senseless with that strategy, and gas after 3 rounds.

Mosley would be better off with almost any other strategy, counterpunching, being very negative and hoping to catch Pacquiao running into something, or even stalking and waiting to land one huge punch.

Well he clearly thinks Mosley's only chance is the KO, that he has to go for it aggressively & that Manny is vulnerable to being backed up and roughed up at welter. All points I agree with. The Wolak comparison totally loses me too, but he's maybe just bringing it up because it's recent.

Mosley CAN'T WIN by decision. So that he can't keep up a certain pace for 12 rounds isn't really here nor there, in terms of his strategic choices. It's gotta be a KO or it isn't gonna be anything. Dwyer obviously thinks he should just play all his cards early & jump on him, even if it increases the chances of him getting KOd, because as he says there he has zero chance of outboxing Manny.

Just trying to have a little fun Steve. Nothing wrong with adding a little fuel to the fire. It makes for good healthy discussions for this upcoming fight. :truce:

Shane doesn't have the skill or the toughness to go along with Pac. As soon as Pac starts landing combos aka the first 2 rounds Shane will be looking to survive and hold.

Manny Pac is RIPPED! I think he understands that Shane is a live opponent. I still think Shane can shock us all and lay Pac out.

haha. God how many ricans and mexicans will Manny demolish before you guys give the man some credit.

Pacquiao is on the Ray Leonard level of fighter. Shane Mosley is on the Shane Mosley level of fighter.

Pacquiao would pee on Shane in any prime vs prime matchup.

a more likely scenario is that pacquiao may pee on his self if he fought a fresh, powerful and quick welterweight like a vintage Shane Mosley.

you may have a point if we ignore shane's record against good fighters even close to his prime.

    Forrest 0-2
    Wright 0-2
    DLH 1-1

Manny would destroy Shane at any point in his career. He's just too easy to tag, and Manny's gonna stop him next month

just out of curiosity how do you think pacquiao would have done at super welter against a 167 lb Ronald Wright of 2003 form?

Truthfully, the Pacquiao of today would win a clear decision over Wright. Easy matchup for him.

Like I said on the other thread, I've always had a soft spot for Shane, he's very likeable, can be great to watch at times, and IMO it's weird he never got more of a fan base than he has.

    But jaws is right.

I used to argue with Sly ALL the time and get pissed off with his Mosley hate, but Mosley's record against the elite fighters he's faced simply can't be denied.

Mosley is an EXCELLENT fighter, an elite fighter really, but one that falls short of beating fellow elite fighters. He looks awesome against B+/A- level fighters, not A or A+.

Pacquiao is the elite of the elite, he beats any version of Shane.

I'd pick Pac over prime Shane, and he'd beat Wright too. He'd outwork the Winkster

Man, Winky was a big guy for 154. A much, much higher level of fighter than any of the big fighters Pac has been in there with.

And you don't want to see Pacquiao/Martinez? Bizarre.

Floyd is A+ and that's ONE LOSS on Shane's ledger by an A+ fighter. Shane has been beaten but look at what styles. Cotto is the only action fighter that beat Shane straight up and even that was very close and not in Shane's prime either.

Martinez is a better fighter than Wright, and hits much harder. By the way I don't think Winky is remotely a higher level of fighter than Cotto. They are both on the lower end of the elite spectrum. He's just bigger than Cotto.

154 is a step too far for Manny, and that's why I probably wouldn't pick him over Martinez.

I happen to think Wright is a very good style matchup for Manny.

It would look like a closer version of the Clottey fight. Winky would be overwhelmed.

Against a guy as fast and unpredictable as Manny, Winky's style simply wouldn't work.

Martinez matches up with Pacquiao a lot better.

Oscar, Forrest, Wright, Cotto and Floyd are all elite fighters and he's 1-7 against them.

A prime Shane would beat Cotto, but it would be close. For the most part Cotto outboxed Mosley in their fight by the way.
