That's not what you said. You said Collins wanted none of Jones, which is just flat out wrong.

One thing I will say is that Roy seemed far more interested in fighting Eubank and Benn than he did Collins. Could just be that Stevie was never on his radar; he seemed genuinely surprised when he found out he beat Eubank the first time (Roy fought on HBO that same evening, I think against Antoine Byrd), almost to the point of being disappointed.

I will say, Roy never seemed to be in a hurry to push that fight, but I chalked it up to Stevie not being on his radar then, and timing never being on their side.

Roy wanted Benn, but network politics and Don King wanting his slice always stood in the way (regardless of who whispered in Nigel's ear, I always believed he wanted that fight and would've ignored those around him if it came to it). That took up most of '95 while Collins was dancing with Eubank.

Then Nigel lost and went on to twice face (and lose to) Collins in '96. By the time Stevie was in a position to call out Roy, it was '97 and Roy was already gone to LHW. For the right payday, perhaps he could've been enticed to drop back down. But just seemed like the timing or the logistics were never right to make the fight happen.

Nelson once fought a guy called "Willard Lewis" or something, whom he sliced into small pieces in a few rounds.

Boxing Monthly referred to it as "Farce Factory"......before referring to another Nelson opponent as "Tommy The Tongan Mystery Man"

I remember that, and there were people in England who thought that Khaliq was going to get hurt badly.

Yeah brings back memories. I liked Khaliq, he was in some good little scraps back in the day, I always wanted to see him fight Harry Dhami, that would have been a good one. Forrest, whilst obviously way out of his league, would have been someone he could have had his moments against, although he'd lose handily. Mosley on the other hand...ouch
