?

Who wins?

  1. The Brown Bomber

    91.7%
  2. The Brockton Blockbuster

    8.3%
  1. Who takes it?

Louis had a chin that could be cracked, but he had some of the best recuperative powers in the history of the division, and he was an efficient exceedingly powerful, accurate stone cold killer.

Marciano had the chin edge and power was basically equivalent (slight edge to Louis IMO), but Marciano was less accurate, slower and less polished.

Both guys had a ton of heart and great stamina. Marciano with the better workrate and aggression, Louis with the faster hands and the precision.

Close fight IMO and very intriguing. If I was able to request the chance to see what would have happened in any mythical matchup, this would have been near the top of the list.

I'm going to make this a poll. Interested to see the results. My natural bias picks Louis, but I'm going to try to look at this objectively before submitting an actual pick.

Louis wasn't as elusive as Walcott but he could box, and I just can't see Rocky walking through his shots here. Louis by stoppage after middle rounds

Louis was a much better fighter so I'd go with him.

    Louis by vicious KO.

Louis is made to work hard for it and probably downed early on, but I think he's too sharp with the jab and the combos down the stretch and he swells Rocky up something fierce

I really never saw this as all that competitive. Louis bashes him into a corner retirement over ten.

I can't fathom anything making Marciano quit

Marciano doesn't quit, but he's missing pieces of his face when the ref finally stops it.

  9. I'm quite surprised that this is unanimous. I would have loved to have seen this fight though. perhaps in the next life it could be set up...

I could see that, but I could never see Marciano throwing in the towel... he was nuts

    Marciano. He was undefeatable.

I'm talking about his corner rescuing him.

No way... Far lesser fighters went beyond ten against Louis

Styles though. Marciano, so open. Louis, so offensive. It could get really messy in there.

But Marciano was freakishly tough and had a tremendous, aggressive game himself... Louis was not a mover

dont get me wrong, I think Louis wins, but its competetive

Marciano was aggressive, though, and that would be his downfall. I think he gives Louis problems, maybe drops him, but it ultimately doesn't end well for him.

Theres no, "could," about it, as to how messy it would get. I think Marciano is pretty horribly under-rated today, but this fight is God awful for him. The best Louis would just butcher him.

Marciano was a lot more elusive than many give him credit for.

Indeed... He is being undersold here
