Mosley over Pacquiao would be the biggest big fight upset since?

Not sure. Tarver over Roy seemed like a huge upset, but maybe partly just because of the shocking KO.

Neil seems to think by fight time that fight was close to even odds. Which makes some sense I guess, given the closeness of the first fight.

I don't know, what do you think?

I can't think of the most recent huge upset.

It wouldn't be as big as Jones/Tarver II, IMO. How about Pacquiao/De La Hoya?

I'd say primarily because of the KO. Had Tarver won a decision that night, I don't think too many jaws would've dropped, more so than (Roy) fans would've been disappointed.

I can honestly say I'd consider Shane beating Pacquiao to be a much bigger upset, even factoring in the shocking KO.

I'm trying to think if there's been a blockbuster upset since Shane-Margarito. I'm sure there have been more shocking upsets, but drawing a blank at the absolute top level.

Even though in hindsight we can all say oh yeah, Oscar dwained, ladida, the fact is, we kind of knew that going into the fight and all thought Oscar would be much too big anyway.

Pacquiao Vs Oscar is the second fight that came to mind actually.

Forgot about Mosley vs Plasterito to be honest. No doubt, that was a legit, big upset. Even as a Plasterito hater and Mosley fan, I didn't give old, washed up Shane much of a shot.

By the way, I think we are just wrong about Roy Vs Tarver 2. A fight with fairly close odds just can't be considered a huge upset really.

Jake is right though, I think it was MAINLY due to the shocking, brutal 1 punch KO. If Tarver won a decision it wouldn't have been a SHOCK, because the fact is, that wasn't that far off from happening in the first fight.

But man, as soon as that punch landed it was like WTF. After seeing Roy look so unbeatable so often, it was crazy.

True, Shane over Pac would be bigger that Shane over Marg, so it doesn't really apply to the thread.

Dawson-Pascal maybe? Not too many people gave Pascal much chance.

I don't think Dawson is good enough for that to be considered a huge upset.

Well, he was generally considered the best fighter at light heavyweight, and Pascal lost to Froch, who wasn't really highly-regarded.

Actually despite being a 3 to 1 favourite over Nard, that fight is one example where the bookmakers odds mean nothing.

That fight was not an upset, not in the slightest.
