Absolutely. Size difference or not, joosp is just a freakishly good wrestler.

I'm more worried about joosp getting clipped on the chin than submitted against Silva, which obviously has a big chance of happening.

If push comes to shove though, I'm picking joosp by decision.

I do agree with Trpl though, GSP does have some quit in him. He's not exactly Erik Morales in the warrior department. The eye affected him a lot, and he really stepped off the pedal after the eye injury.

However, did he really tap to strikes to Serra? I rewatched that fight yesterday, and thought the ref just stopped it.

Well, here you go. Watch at the 28-30 second mark. GSP rolls and taps with his right hand right before the ref jumps in.

I guess you could debate whether it would have been stopped anyway, but he clearly tapped.

All I watched was the main event.

Lets just be honest about the situation, MMA and Boxing are held to different standards. It's no secret in terms of good fights boxing is destroying MMA this year.

[IMG]Let's be real honest. Anyone who watched only the main event, really has no business in this discussion.

For those that know what they're talking about, personally my 3 favorite fights this year are Maidana-Morales, Ortiz-Berto and Diaz-Daley in no particular order.

The biggest flop of the year so far is Perez quitting against Darchinyan. Go ask Mark Hominick if he would have pussed out with that cut...

But again, the far more entertaining cards are still MMA. Last night was a perfect example. You can't get 1/10 of that on a boxing card.

That's why the standards are different.

What is trolling man. The main event is the most important fight on the card. Most MMA fights this year have been boring. Thats the truth. Wouldn't expect you to come back with any kind of logical argument, you never do. GSP fighting is a big deal in MMA, hes the biggest draw. Mayweather-DLH gets shited on for being boring. Id watch that fight back to back 5 times rather tahn watch Shields-GSP again.

You are use to boxing where all they care about is the main event. in MMA, they put on greats cards. All the fights are usually very good. That is why when you watch boxing, the arena is practically empty until the main event, but when you watch UFC, the place is packed right from the beginning.

Pay attention to what i said. I will Underlined it for you. Even if the main event in UFC is boring (which i didnt think it was) you have 7 other fights that will save the card.

Dude, it's pointless. 10 years from now people will still talk about the Machida KO kick. But 10 minutes after Oscar-Floyd people in attendance couldn't recall a single fight on the televised under card.

The business models are complete differently. The UFC does a far better job of showcasing other contenders as well as up and comers on popular PPV's like this. They also played to the Canadian venue by having several Canadians on the card.

Again, there is no comparison in value between a UFC PPV and boxing PPV's.

I was a huge doubter but I've got to be honest and eat some crow. Machida delivered that kick with the hip action exactly like Seagal coached him on in the video I posted.

I guess it can't be a coincidence that the only front kick KO's in UFC history came from guys working with Seagal on that exact kick.

I don't want to believe. I don't like believing it. But I've got to accept it.

In case you missed it. Here's what Mark Hominick looked like after 4 rounds with Jose Aldo. And Hominick had at least 3 chances to say he couldn't see and take the easy way out. Nope, he wasn't about to.

And I think "You're the Best Around" should be playing behind this clip. And at some point Elizabeth Shue should run in the cage.

I agree with you that boxing has had a better year than MMA. It has been a banner year for boxing.

What I don't understand is why you come into an MMA forum making these statements. What's your agenda? Really? Did some MMA'ist kick your ass or something? Makes no sense to me.

You are right about it being packed from the beginning. Have to give UFC credit for that. However that doesn't mean the fights are always entertaining especially this year. It started with the great fight between Edgar and Maynard but for the most part i have been mad bored watching UFC this year.

I just get bored of the boxing is dying after a big fight is lackluster. GSP fights are worse to watch than Mayweather fights by a long distance.

Well recent UFC told me to only watch the main event because i couldn't watch the whole thing. Although i was really more interested in the Aldo fight but got back too late. However according to the UFC fans/Boxing hating media and fans every single MMA fight is incredible and all the boxing fights suck.

Well, you need try watching some fights then. Here I'll give you a little tip.

    Kampmann-Sanchez, Diaz-Daley, Lytle-Ebersole, Barboza-Njokuani, Cerrone-Kelly, Guida-Gomi, McKenzie-Edwards, and Aldo-Hominick.

Again, you gotta watch before you should ever comment.

    And stop sounding so threatened.

That sounds ridiculous. Boxing has had some terrific fights this year. You make stuff up and that is just sad.

i dont expect all fights to be exciting, even the ones that look good on paper. i watch for competition and see who comes out on top. same goes for boxing. it's never really been about toe-to-toe battles for me. i respect and appreciate different aspects of the game.

while last night's main event wasn't the most thrilling, it still had some moments and was interesting to see gsp get busted up but still remain composed enough to get the W.

i thought aldo vs. hominick was best featherweight fight i've seen so far.

Im not threatened not at all, you sound threatened, any time somebody isn't blowing off MMA your here to defend no matter if the criticism is accurate or not. I do watch fights. Thats how i get an opinion on them. Truth is strikeforce is much more entertaining these days than the UFC. And well if the event apart from the main event was good this year than i guess i missed out then didn't I.

I don't make stuff up. Is boxing is dying a rumour that I made up? Do you go on any MMA forums or watch UFC shows with the sound down?

Yet again a standard comeback with nothing.

Why are you acting like we are in here talking shit about boxing? Nobody in here is saying anything negative about boxing. You're creating an argument that isn't there.

LOL... You're a riot dude. First, I am not in the boxing forum. You are in the MMA forum. Do you need any further clarification about which of us threatened.

Second, you're the moron that said you only watch main events and then actually think you're qualified to talk about the quality of an MMA PPV.

If you ever see me in the boxing forum saying "I don't watch boxing, but it sucks" then come talk to me.

We have great fights and great events to talk about in the MMA forum. Slamming boxing isn't necessary in here.
