Ali goes without saying, can't beat the original. Hamed was pretty good too, he had some gems in the run up to the Kelly fight. Floyd gets in peoples heads but it's more to do with the fact he's an annoying cunt than any of the shit he's actually saying. I dunno, I'm bored, anybody got any more?

Tyson was my favourite just for how bizarre and hilarious some of them were.

The 'aim for the tip of the nose, push his bone into the brain' intimidation line

'you're sweet, Im gonna have you kiss me with those biiig lips'

'I could feel is muscle tissues collapse beneath my force. It's ludicrous these mortals attempt to enter my realm.'

'how dare he challenge me with his primitive skills, he's as good as dead'

'he was making woman gestures like 'eeeeeewwww!!! eeeewwwww!!!!'

'i'll fuck you til you love me faggot'

'My main objective is to be professional but to murder him'

'I'm going to strip him of his health. I bring pain.....a lot of pain.'

'my styles impetuous, my defence is impregnable .....im gonna eat his children'

'All praise is to Allah, I'll fight any man, any animal'

All spouted in a curious childish lisp. Really, really brilliant.

Yeah Mayorga is good, no doubt, it would be good if he could back it up a bit more though . He didn't have much to begin with and now the smacktalk is all he has left

Hopkins as annoying as he is sometimes has his moments. The one that I remember the most was when he was talking about the rematch with Trinidad:

"What Trinidad Sr. did to his son is considered child abuse in some states."

During the buildup for his fight with Tarver, he said something like "I seen dudes like that (Tarver) in the D-Block, taking it in the ass all day."

Hatton, ...that Manchester press conference with Floyd was one of the best live ownages I've ever seen,.. the trumpet in the crowd that would come in on cue made it even funnier, as did the nervous british news coverage who crossed over to it.

Groves is actually pretty good too,.. he raped Degale on TV, that was pretty severe.

Groves was cleverer but De Gale still got by far the better of that, in my book. Just way, way more relaxed.

I thought groves won that ringside battle as he remained calm throughout degale's outbursts and derogatory comments. but clearly, degale got under groves' skin.

I bought tickets just because it was a title fight close by, but now I'm actually looking forward to watching them punch eachother in the face from the 5th row. :bears:

5th row, nice one. Up close and personal. You'll even be able to hear the insults between the two during the fight. :giggle:

As far as contemporary fighters go, James Toney is the king of smack talk.

    Ali is the GOAT, though.

Toneys line about Hopkins mother having sex with a goat was pretty damn funny. Toney-Hopkins would be the greatest press conference of all time.

    True:lol:

But it was hilarious to see him loudly singing along with the Star Spangled Banner in front of 130,000 Mexicans who were hoping he would die

Vitali is actually fond of a bit of smack-talk and engages in the showmanship and gamesmanship/confrontational stuff far more than Wladimir. His smack is more high-end stuff and less of the "I'll fuck your mother" variety.

He's had little run-ins with Sanders, Hide, Peter and Solis and Haye, including running across the ring and telling Sanders he was going to give him a beating, which he did, eventually..... taking Haye's hat and punching him in the shoulder....

He tried to take the Belt off Peter and Peter had minor shit-fit, then there was the time he got into Hides face and Hide said "you are a refugee and you should never say I'm adopted" :laugh11:

As usual when discussing marquee names in boxing, Vitali doesn't belong among the others being mentioned. I recommend you take him out of this thread and leave him in your fantasies, where he belongs.

When they were scheduled to fight in 2003, they were actually arguing in the press conference over the ever important topic of who came from a rougher ghetto. Somehow, the projects of North Philly seem worse to me than a college town like Ann Arbor.

Toney also then claimed something like "Philly fighters ain't nothing, Joe Frazier was from South Carolina"
