Cotto isn't even close to being as quick as Ortiz.

Cotto is actually slow-ish and ponderous at 147/154.

As Hut Hut alluded to, Cotto is more compact and crisp with his shots than Ortiz, and overall just a better fighter, but as far as raw handspeed and footspeed goes, Ortiz wins by a country mile.

I've been a fan of Cotto more or less since he turned pro, and I think he is underrated these days, BUT even years ago I said he is basically tailor made for Floyd.

Cotto is damn good, but he is too patient/methodical, and that is absolutely no good against Floyd. It just gives Floyd the room and time he needs to pot shot the shit out of his opponent.

I have no interest in seeing that fight, Cotto would probably win 1 round.

I would confidently pick Cotto over Ortiz, but Ortiz matches up better with Floyd. Faster and more gung ho, a bit more unpredictable.

Stylewise i agree, but i'd still give Cotto a better chance at this stage in their careers. He has a lot more big fight experience and can take a shot much better. Ortiz isn't ready for Floyd.

I watched cotto v mosley last night, man that was a good fight and cotto was very impressive, despite the late surge from shane. Great fight.

Cotto vs. Mayweather is a much better fight....but it's won't happen because Cotto is still promoted by Arum...

Mayweather will beat them both....but IMO Victor Ortiz would be the much easier opponent for Mayweather....

If the fight is happening at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.......

    Victor Oritz more winnable fight...
    Victor Ortiz Mexican...
    Texas huge population of mexicans

= Victor Ortiz being the next opponent...or maybe Erik Morales..

ortiz is a better welterweight than cotto. id pick him over cotto at welterweight. he is faster, fresher and hits harder than cotto. also coming off a great victory. ortiz is a legit and dangerous foe, i give him a good chance to knock out an inactive, older mayweather jr. ortiz is certainly the bigger guy in that fight.

Cotto would have destoryed Berto, are you kidding me? One good win and Ortiz goes from quitter to killer.

I would pick Cotto to win but the way Cotto looked against Mayorga wouldn't fill me with confidence that he would destroy him.

How come nobody is throwing around roid accusations? I mean we have Ortiz coming off the best victory of his career and he looked bigger than ever and better than ever in this fight. Now he's fighting in Texas?

I demand olympic style drug testing. I hope Floyd does too.

Well considering how Berto has look in the past..and how he look vs. Ortiz...i'm pretty confident that COTTO would have destroyed Berto...pretty easily.
