Pacquaio is the most opportunistic fighter in the sport.

1 year ago when Mosley was the champ he was too dangerous, then money humiliates him and even Mora gets a draw and Manny gets brave.

Zhonny you are right. Floyd needs to start fighting guys coming off a loss like Manny. Floyd needs to fight Berto instead.

No doubt....just like in the P4P ranking...those two are in competition...to see who can be the most opportunist.

Manny will probably fight Ortiz after Floyd beats him so you might wanna chill on the Ortiz hate. Then again why not fight Morales make it 4 times that he fights Morales coming off a loss.

The Version of Cotto and Margarito that Pacquiao fought...regardless of coming from a defeat/draw/victory would fucking slaughter Marquez at 145-147 and would make Victor Ortiz cry and quit...

Cotto probably but Margarito has looked terrible since he got busted for the wraps.

No.....Cotto definitely and Margarito for sure...just on pure aggression Margarito would overwhelm both Victor Ortiz and Marquez.....esp. Marquez who doesn't have the movement to stay away...those counter punches that stopped Katsidis, would do NOTHING to deter Margarito.

Margarito is so damn slow these days. His O sucks and his D is even worse now

Golden Boy is willing to make fights with other promoters, Arum is the one trying to keep everything "in house."

Wouldn't matter if he fought him now or right after he quit vs Maidana. All it means is Berto ain't that good. Ortiz didn't just magically become a great fighter.

Mosley isn't with Top Rank and neither is JMM, who was offered the next fight with Pac.

Manny should take blood tests every day including between rounds, leave his promoter, and pay Floyd's taxes and legal fees.

Ortiz has always had talent. Nobody questioned that. It was his toughness that people questioned. Which he showed a lot of against Berto.

Mayweather actually has a few guys signed. This is like Winky promotions or Vargas promotions.

Who are they? I could start Slice N Dice promotions tomorrow and sign up Eric Crumble and friends.

I hate Floyd as much as the next guy (if not more) but you can't find fault in a fight against Ortiz if he's not fighting Manny. Ortiz is coming off a career resurrecting win and a fight of the year candidate. I'd feel better about this matchup than a Spadafora fight.

if he's not fighting Manny then why not Ortiz? Do I think he's light years better than Ortiz? Of course. Suddenly Floyd is so good no one is worthy of fighting him...perhaps it's best he is semi-retired.

Floyd is creeping up on 35...sooner than later he's going to walk into the ring and fight his age.

Wes Ferguson was one fighter...I forget which PPV event it was on but he was on the wrong end of a highlight reel KO.

I agree with this, it's not the worst match that could be made for sure. Far better than Spadafora. At least Ortiz is relevant right now.

I'll believe that when Ortiz fights and beats another hard hitting pressure fighter. Berto fights nothing like Maidana.

Agreed. He was impressive against Berto but lets not forget he got hurt multiple times himself.

Perhaps he is better suited to 147 but it's not like he's a "new man" all of a sudden. Mayweather is way too much for him at this stage but i guess if i was in shoes i'd take the fight as well. It's basically a win win situation.

Even if he's competitive his stock will rise again.
