One for the DVR of the die hards. If you've followed Bellator this season, then you've seen the organization heavily promote their top Welterweight tournament participant, Jay Hieron. Hieron will face Judo Olympian Rick Hawn in the final tonight. The winner gets a shot at the undefeated Bellator 170 pound champion, Ben Askren. Also on the card is MMA vet and former UFC fighter, Joe Riggs. I watched it this morning. I agree. I gave Hawn the 2nd and 3rd. I really penalize guys for running away all night. And running and then landing a good leg kick is still pussified in my mind. That being said, Hieron will be the toughest opponent of Askren's career. Should be worth watching. But the worst part of the night for me was seeing how absolutely shot Joe Riggs is at 28 years old. Despite being young, he should retire immediately. He's been brutally stopped in back-to-back fights and his body has a load of miles on it.
Riggs is a guy who was once like 300lbs. I'm sure that has something to do with how badly he's faded at such a young age. I'm sure he works hard to just to keep from getting fat.
Yeah, it's hard to believe the guy fought Cabbage at 250 pounds or something like that. That body has a lot of mileage for a 28 year old.
Heiron got his a$$ beat the last 2 rounds no doubt. Heiron displayed all the damage and had the audacity to ACT like he won the fight. Dude was raising his left hand waiting for the ref to raise the right one. AS THOUGH!! Bitch got a gift. I hope Hawn gets a rematch.
