Better yet what does Shane Mosley have in common with these fighters

    Muhammad Ali
    Roy Jones Jr
    Julio Caesar Chavez
    Roberto Duran
    Erik Morales
    Mike Tyson
    Tito Trinidad

and there are plenty more! I'll Holla 5000

Kinda. But at some point in their great careers and we all can agree they are some of the greatest fighters of all-time. Atleast in my life-time. But at some point in their careers they quit in the ring. Whether they refused to answer the bell or they just flat out pulled a Sugar Shane.

Oh yeah I wonna add ODLH to the list as well. I'll Holla 5000

You've got plenty of heart Bigdawg, the last time you took on the forum regarding 'retiring in the ring' ... I was clearly more injured than you were,.. :goingmad: "Leave Bigdawg alone!, leave Bigdawg alone!"..I appealled for mercy,..and "Ok you've made your point, he's entitled to his!...move along!" ...

I really hope it goes a little better than last time, and like a true warrior, you must be protected from yourself, and that's precisely the point your willing to make. Good luck. :bears:

Ive always thought Tyson being labeled as having no heart was a fallacy. It's all based off the Holy rematch, but I truly believe that Holy's butting simply caused Mike to mentally snap.

Tyson displayed in the Douglas fight, both Ruddock fights, the first Holy fight, and the Lewis fight that he had heart.

All the fighters I listed showed heart and battled througj some form of adversity during their hall of fame careers. But just as they did that they also quit without actually quitting. Or should I say stopped trying to win. I also want to say that I am totally against the quitting thing but if I had to give a pass it would be those that have earned accomplished what they have accomplished. They earned that right with their all-time greatness. So when people say that Shane fought like a bitch like he did it's not the first time that a great boxer has went out like that. And I must say he's in pretty company. I'll Holla 5000

And they got that lute baby dinganingningning yeaaaa

  9. They fought on too long after their primes were over...compromising their legacy...

  10. Tyson lacks heart in this sense:

He gets discouraged and doesn't think he can win. He doesn't flat out quit but he starts to doubt himself.

The thing with Shane, though, is that this is now twice in his past three fights where he's pulled a bank job. At this point, those who still pay to watch him fight have themselves to blame. But at the same time, he deserves every ounce of criticism he receives.

Even when Morales quit against Pacquiao in the third fight, he still fought back every step of the way before deciding to call it a night. Shane can't claim that - not in this fight, nor against Floyd.

I just have a hard time throwing praise at fighters who stick around way past their prime collecting the paydays they do, and acting as if they have nothing to lose. For $55 ($65 in HD), paying fans have every right to complain about his performance, as do those who didn't pay to watch but still love the sport enough to where he embarrassed it (and himself) with his non-performance.

Ah get it, you like Shane, so now quitting has layers in your world.

It is easier not to quit when you have 2 ft of pillows and ten fat-asses protecting you. Just a thought

There is a difference between not trying to win and not being able to win due to your opponents talent.
