Chavez greater, but clearly more worn & obviously a smaller man, against Hatton, bigger & nearer his prime, but plainly inferior. Who takes this one in a fight at 147lbs?
I thought Hatton took about three from Mayweather, from memory. Chavez didn't do any better than that.
Chavez by TKO late....Chavez could still fight...when he fought Whitaker...he just could not track Whitaker down...as usual Whitaker was right in front of his opponent, but they could not land..same happen to Chavez. Hatton will come in winging punches, clinching, rough housing tactics...and Chavez would rip him with the cleaner, shorter, punches to both head and body....it will be close for 6-7 rounds..till Chavez cleaner punches start to pile up... Hatton style is make for Chavez...even an older out of his best weight Chavez...
They both didn't look too good at WW (er, well unless you wanna count some of Chavez's tune-up fights) so it's difficult to gauge... I guess I would pick Chavez but I'm not completely sure
Chavez kicks his ass. JCC at that point, although decling, was still a much better fighter than Hatton. Also, the Whitaker of 93 was better than the Floyd of 07.
I'm sorry but I can't possibly comprehend how anyone can claim Hatton looked better against Floyd than Chavez did against Whitaker. Even without the comparisons, I'd pick Chavez without hesitation.
well you also think JMM punched as hard as Naseem Hamed and that he would beat Julio Cesar Chavez... so, there's that
Exactly. The only advantage Hatton has is foot speed. However he uses that speed to narrow the gap and fight inside. Not good in this one. He's absolutely sodomized against Chavez even if he's lubed up fighting in Manchester and his mom is the ref.
