I think Pacquiao is going to kick is ass.

I thought Pacquiao was going to kick his ass in 2004.

I also thought Pacquiao was going to kick his ass in 2008.

    Fuck it, I'm down.

Manny creates another weight division. :bears:

Perfect weight for him to have a huge physical advantage. Marquez shows up in perfect shape, and will be much lighter or Marquez shows up at 144, and will be much slower.

He had to sign it anyway. Too much money to pass on just like the Floyd fight.

What's weird is that this is seen as an unfair fight at 144 (and rightly so), but look at the photo above, Marquez looks clearly the bigger man

Fuck Pac for this. I could almost forgive the lowered catch weights against Cotto & Margarito since he was clearly at such a size disadvantage. But dragging Marquez UP in weight to disadvantage him (and undermine the relevance of the fight for all of us), when pac could easily make 140? That's complete bullshit.

    Agreed with Hut

Marquez only challenge is to survive the first 4 rounds. If he does that it would mean that he's figured Pac out yet again and he could go on to possibly win a decision.

Of course, surviving those first 4 against the (now) bigger Pac are no guarantee.

Even though the first two fights were world class i'd rather see Pacquiao (or even Marquez for that matter) fight Bradley.

    I agree with you.

I said at the time, the catchweights with those guys IS forgivable, considering the size of Pacquiao, a bit of weight in his favour is only fair.

Not this fight though, it should be at 140.

Pac couldn't make 140 EASILY, as he's put on muscle to get to weigh in at 145, but yeah, he could make 140.

140 would be a fairer fight without a doubt. Put would have to shed a few extra pounds, and Marquez would only have to bulk up a few extra pounds.

I've always liked Marquez fighting spirit.I think its every bit as strong as Pacquiao's,that's why there first two fights have been tough for Manny because Marquez is the only fighter he's fought that didn't fold marquez instead comes right back at him.Alot of people will disagree with me but I think this will be another tough and close fight.

I don't agree with the backlash on the catch weight. Manny is the welterweight champion right now. He is agreeing to fight at a lower weight than the weight of the division in which he is champion. He is bending there. He could've said the fight is at 147, deal with it, but he didn't. Seems reasonable to me.

Without a title on the line at 140, it's not very relevant either

Did you say that with a straight face? Mayweather hasn't fought in a year. If he hasn't been stripped of his title than he surely should have been.

Besides, no one cares about the lineal title anymore.

JMM will be slower at this catchweight, but he'll still make it competitive and will be trading throughout, as long as it lasts.

Will be more competitive than pac v mosley.

    Yep.

Last time they fought Pac was considered the bigger man and we saw what happened there.

Clearly Pacquiao will be the favorite but I think it will be close again.
