Foreman can't outbox him and isn't going to a score a big knockout punch either.

    Holmes UD

Word. Both could still take a punch, both were slow, so the guy with better technique wins. That would be Holmes

Larry could still move quite convincingly for an old flabby guy... And the jab was still a thing of beauty. I like him to survive a scare or two and just stick and move to a very clear UD ... George was very limited at that age... If you could avoid standing in front of him you were halfway home... He could still hit like hell but movement was too much for him

I'll be the odd man out then & support Foreman. If you could jab with Holmes, he could be put off his game, & that was true even in his pomp. Older & slower, & without the pop to hurt Foreman, I think he struggles to maintain an even attack over twelve rounds, & I actually think Foreman would hurt him more than a lot of people seem to think. Holmes, to me, gets a little (not a huge amount, mind) over-rated during the 90's, though the Mercer fight was a fine moment.

I like Big George in this one to do the greater damage & alter The Easton Assassin's gameplan moreso than vice-versa.

I'd honestly pick Holmes over Foreman at any point from 1978 onward.

I see what you mean, but George's jab, though straight and impossibly heavy, was still SLOW and he still needed his man in front of him to use it... Holmes would get his there much quicker and he still could move for an old guy

I guess I just don't see Holmes as too elusive for Foreman. I think they would do more standing their ground than boxing (Holmes stopped worrying about keeping his weight in-check from about 1983), & one thing about Holmes is that whenever he was hurt, he tended to lose his discipline. The movement & angles would go out the window & he'd dig his heels in & fire right back.

    Bad move.
