Dangerous fight for both men but Trinidad gets dropped early and rebounds to stop Pavlik late.

WAR TITO! This would have been a toe to toe action fight from the opening bell!

Taylor, Pavlik, Abraham were winnable fight for TRINIDAD..even a comebacking one....but Papa Trinidad/Team Trinidad were a bit to brave or dumb putting him with WINKY WRIGHT....

First comeback fight against a human punching bag...2nd fight against one of the better defensive fighter around...:NotThink:

Yep, that was a horrific piece of matchmaking. Trinidad didn't need Winky at all. (let alone a comebacking Tito)

Not quite sure what the thinking was there. I assume they figured Tito was bigger and Winky would just clam up and let Trinidad go to work all night.

I don't know how you guys feel, but I don't think Trinidad would've ever found a way to beat Wright, not even at the height of his career.

Wright is like the guy who does the "cheap move" over and over in a fighting game. If you're a smart player and have some experience, you can find a way to deal with the cheap move and thus defeat your opponent (which is why I picked Hopkins over Wright with 0 hesitation). Unfortunately for Tito, he had the ring IQ of a brick. Any version of Trinidad gets completely shut out by Wright.

    Monday morning quarterbacking.

Winky had beaten Shane twice and although he had good defense, he wasn't a mover and so it was reasonable to assume that Tito would just beat on him until he got through that defense.

Nevertheless fuck Winky Wright....he prevented Mosley-Trinidad from happening!

Agreed! Tito vs Mosley would have been another true classic. So many fights Tito could have been matched up against that were winnable.

I disagree. A prime Version of Tito was a very good Boxer/Puncher. It wasn't until late in his career that he fell in love with his power. I cant say for sure he beats Winky even at his peak, its simply a very bad style match up. It wouldn't have been a shutout, though.

Trinidad was always in love with his power and was never much of a boxer... He just didn't face stiff enough competition at that time to illustrate it.

    Trinidad never beats Winky wright

Trinidad-Mosley would've happened around 2003-04. I very much doubt it would be a classic at that point in their respective careers. Trinidad was done a full two years prior against Hopkins & would never re-capture his former glory, while Mosley was at one of the lowest points of his career (performance-wise), getting a gift over De La Hoya & a boxing lesson --- twice over --- from Wright.
