Again TLC im in full agreement with you. Will be less entertaining than Shields-GSP yet TWICE as entertaining as Hopkins-Pascal 2(what SHIT for a title fight that was). Diaz has almost ZERO percent chance in this matxhup.....

It's THE ONLY Interesting Welterweight Fight that GSP has Left...After This he Really has NO OTHER Recourse BUT to Fight Anderson Silva.... REED:hammert:
SEEMS that Way for Sure...But when U Couple the Growing Perception that GSP's Fights R "Boring" w/the FACT that Diaz is LITERALLY the Last Meaningful Challenger he has, it Leaves GSP Stuck btwn a Rock & a Hard Place... @ the Very LEAST, he'll Need to Move Up to 185 to Test the Waters...GSP @ 170 is like Shooting Fish in a Barrel.... REED:dancingBaby:
Nick 6 months to work on his take down D and back game. GSP is a clear favorite, but it's the only fight at 170 I want to see.
Promoter says Nick Diaz no longer set to box, Dana White insists UFC bout not guaranteed by John Morgan on May 23, 2011 at 3:05 pm ET The man prepared to promote a Nick Diaz boxing contest now says the Strikeforce welterweight champion will not be entering the squared circle anytime soon. Don Chargin today announced via press release that Diaz has determined it's in his "best interest to focus on his primary combat sport and profession." Chargin also referenced a potential "opportunity of a lifetime" for Diaz, fueling further speculation of a pending matchup with UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. However, UFC president Dana White continues to insist Diaz is far from UFC-bound.
Smart move by Diaz. It looks like he realized that beating up a completely useless ex boxer is meaningless while a fight with GSP will be on everyone's radar. Even if GSP is still a fight or two down the road, Lacy is worthless as a way to kill time.
He's not scared of Lacy, but he probably would have lost a boxing match to him, and not got much credit even if he did win, so it was stupid. Obviously this is far more appealing. Nick does better than Shields by the way.
I knew Dana would never allow the boxing match to go through. Diaz is smart, he forced the UFC to give him a shot when they had no plans on doing so.
Dana will do the smart thing. He'll have GSP and Diaz face off on TUF which will delay the bout occurring. This will allow a slow transition of UFC and Strikeforce fighters. And the pairing of GSP and Diaz on TUF will be fun.
Good call, it would be a great TUF season, just watching Nick's paranoid ass spew absolute nonsense to the team and camera would be awesome:hammert:
No doubt. The kids on that team would get their asses worked. By the way, don't leave out little brother Nate. He won TUF and could lend alot to the coaching staff. Now it must happen.
