Brewster/Wlad is a good one. Brewster used the bizarre strategy of showing up with one eye and out of shape.
:bears: :bears: Who was waiting??? Brewster found himself in a rich vein of precious white coal, he paused a while to chisel himself some nuggets, and ran into a Wolf. Wlad was fighting undefeated Sam Peter while "avoiding" Brewster, who was forced to fight Golota and Krasniqi whilst waiting for Wlad. AGREED!!!!:rock:
Yes. I agree. It was Wlad. Wlad said "fuck this Brewster business, I will wait for him to soften himself up versus Krasniqi and Kali Meehan and Golota and I'll just sneak off and fight Sam Peter instead". It was a cunning plan, which paid major dividends. Wlad picked up an IBF title while Brewster took on the killer that was Mo Harris victim Sergei Europeanvich or something. Those cunning Asiatic Klitschkos. Is there no depth they will not plumb ?? :dunno:
Judah in the rematch with Stinks didn't waste any time his strategy was get down to business right from the opening bell, and not run out of time trying to knock out Stinks at the end of the 12th.
So Brewster was ducking Wladimir?? .....Yeah he when on to fight Peter....and Sam gave him one of his toughest fights...instead of rematching him one or two fights later..he WAITED 5 years for a return fight... Wladimir knew that with his weak heart and china chin he would never beat Corrie Sanders...so he sent out big brother instead....
Yes. Wlad was scared of Peter. Peter was so confounded by Wlads refusal to rematch him that he was forced to take drastic action and seek scant and unrewarding opportunities in WBC-land against other guys that Wlad refused to rematch, like Jameel McCline. Peter barely made any money from those fights and was eventually lured to Germany to fight super-fit and super-active Vitali, so unable was he to get Wlad in the ring.
Hmm yes- I think those two fights played a major role in what he would go on to achieve. Reminded me a lot of his final sequence with Pacquiao.
Lennox got into wicked shape for the rematch with Rahman, used that jab overtime, and didn't let himself get caught on the ropes with his chin up. He really did a great job in the rematch. Also Evander boxed rather than slugged in the rematch with Riddick Bowe.
Still not as cunning as the Klit opponents intentionally looking bad in fights to garner a title shot. Devious!
Those are the two I immediately thought of. SRL boxed in the re with Duran. Ali held Frazier a lot in the re, and fought in shape against Spinks in their re Frazier attempted to "box" in the re with Foreman unsuccesfully. Hopkins waited till RJJ was shot. Also, Rocky changed to orthodox in his rematch with Clubber lang to good effect.
