    Who do we like, fellas?

    I fancy Calzaghe's chances, personally.

Calzaghe probably wins (I'm assuming that this is at 168?)

    Calzaghe.

McClellan's right would make things interesting, though.

    Calzaghe.... wouldn't take the fight.

But if he did, he'd probably win.

    McClellan TKO7

  8. Outside of a huge punch changing the fight dramatically, Calzaghe wins every second of every round.

Calazghe takes his customary early trip to the canvas but after about 4 rounds he takes over the fight and wins a UD

    Calzaghe sucks. McLelland by KO.

This wouldn't be Jones or Hopkins dropping him early... if that happens, it's G-man by KO.

Agree with this and clarified the post slightly :-)

If the G-man drops Calzaghe, he doesn't get up again. Good puncher's chance but Calslappy still has to be favored. If I were betting on this fight, I'd probably put money on G-man by KO and Calzaghe by decision both.

You fellas mostly pick Calzaghe's jaw to withstand the McClellan punch, though?

What might McClellan's approach be for this fight?

  14. Calzaghe's been dropped a couple times but he's never looked badly hurt to me...and we all know he's never been stopped. If Benn (albeit miraculously) could get up more than once to win, Calzaghe could also. So I don't know why people are saying in this thread that if Calzaghe goes down he doesn't get up.

Additionally, there was nothing at all in the knockdown against Jones. Replays plainly showed Jones' wrapping south of the heel connecting with Calzaghe, with the glove not even glancing him.

If he landed a crushing blow then sure, but as we've seen it doesn't take a devastating shot to put Joe down.

The Jones knockdown was practically a forearm smash  A glancing blow indeed! Calzaghe was never seriously hurt once, by anyone in near fifty fights. He had excellent recuperative powers and a very solid chin.

    Still sucked in every way.

I really can't adequately express my contempt for Calzaghe's style, personality or cynical career trajectory.

McClelan would win. He's better than anyone Calzaghe ever faced, besides a 43 year old Hopkins who was at a huge style disadvantage against Joe's volume at that age.

  20. I dunno about that, from my point of view you've done an excellent job! :giggle:

Calzaghe does suck. But McClellan tends to get a bit overrated.. he was kind of a basic 1-2 fighter and Calzaghe's style and yes, skill, would be tough for him to deal with.

Calzaghe did indeed suck balls... he was not a great fighter

However, McClellan wasn't all that good either... he's astonishingly overrated around here... If G-Man is the best fighter (prime wise) that Calzaghe ever fought, than the opposite is also true

I think that Welsh faggot slaps his way to a decision

Gman could punch him square in the face though.

If only he could do it a bunch of times

Calzaghe is probably angling for a match with him NOW

  29. I just don't get why people say that. I see something completely different when I watch Calzaghe fight. Dude was fast, busy, smart, reasonably elusive, determined, accurate. I dunno what else he could be in order to convince people he was a tremendous talent.
