Arreola is in much, much better shape than Nelson. Nelson is a proper fat person, he has a comedy belly. Arreola is just a bit podgy. His stamina is also not that bad. Who said Nelson is in better shape?
I have never seen roy in this bad of shape. So as of now you might be right, but before this fight? No way. Again, it takes more stamina to grapple than to box.
I disagree. I think throwing and taking punches uses more energy. Even if it does take more stamina to grapple, it's close either way, and Arreola can fight 12 rounds.
His focus was only on standup. Hardly got any grappling sparring in. Which shows why is exhausted in there.
I wasn't proven wrong in the slightest. You have your opinion and I have mine. There were no facts involved. Do you think Roy Nelson could box for 12 rounds? :: I think he'd be gassed after 1 round.
If he can grapple for 5 minutes, he can box for longer than 1 round in boxing. And you were proven wrong. You dont wrestle or grapple yet made the assumption. You had people on here that have done both and told you. I also posted articles about it. In wrestling you are constantly carrying someone else's weight on you. Its not a contest.
You're also able to lay on the ground and not have to use your strength and exert much energy. If all wrestling matches in MMA were fiercely contested, constant physical struggle, big throws and takedowns, you might have a point. I didn't make an assumption, I have wrestled and grappled a judo friend. I find it uses less energy than boxing. The fact is, there is so much LNP in MMA that you're simply wrong. You can imagine Roy boxing and constantly moving around etc for more than say 2 rounds without being gassed? Getting popped in the face with a jab constantly and receiving hard bodyshots? He'd be gassed after a round or 2.
