Is Dick too big for Duran?

    Probably yes.

Great fighters at one weight usually lose to great fighters 4 weights higher. Why dont we have some Duran matches at 135, 140, 147 for a wee change?

Any true great above 147lbs has the beating of Duran, as I see it.

He has every shot on his day against the 2nd tier Junior Middleweight greats. Benvenuti, Trinidad, Jackson, Norris, Kalule, Wright, Vazquez. At his best, he's at the top of that level as a 154er & from there it depends how the styles match up. I'd favour him over most of those guys. I don't think he could beat anything better than decent 160lb champs and I don't see that as any knock on him.

Mayweather couldn't, Whitaker couldn't, Chavez couldn't, B-Leonard couldn't. Duran's the only one with the remotest shot.

The 2nd tier? The very best 154lb. Duran? We are in agreement, Hut. We really are. I just stated the elite champs above 147 had the beating of him, which I stick to. Hearns & McCallum would be prime candidates, for instance.

I don't consider what I said to be a knock against Duran, for what it's worth.

Tiger way too strong... You better stick and move against that guy

Duran would have been badly outmuscled

    Great lightweight
    exceptional welterweight
very good light middleweight (on his game at least)
    decent middleweight.
