If you deny this, you simply don't know boxing. I can't understand how much this guy is hated on this forum.

Boogieman was the full package, he was a complete fighter with big punch and excellent technique. He was only 6'2 and around 210 lbs so he gave away plenty in that regard and still demolished everybody. Imagine if he had been the size of Lennox :tick:

In his prime, around 1983-1985, he only lost one fight and that was a bout where he dropped his opponent twice. Mike Tyson named him the second best fighter he ever fought, and considering Ferguson was beyond shot in that bout you can only think what a prime Boogieman would have done to him.

Also, when being more shot than Frank Cappucino Ferguson calmly destroyed the fearsome Ray Mercer who would give Lennox and Holy all they could handle. Ferguson also defeated the unbeaten prospect Bobby Harris, a fact that often is overlooked.

Late in his career Ferguson lost a couple of fights but they don't count since he obviously didn't train for them.

Jesse Ferguson, the greatest heavyweight ever. Comments?

What is your take on Ferguson?

Well, it's obvious that Jesse was a product of modern super-evolution and color television.

As such I don't think anybody could beat him, while at the top of his game. Mount Whitaker on a really good day maybe............but that's about it.

  7. I don't know where you're going with this. it's obviously a rebuttal to someone...possibly Hut's position on Duran, or many on Tyson?

Yeah but Tyson was the man and quite possibly unbeatable at that point in his career.

True. We should probably modify the forum in such a way that if you click on a poster's username it lists their agenda(s).

This would be useful for both new (lol) and existing posters.

All respect to Ferguson as a boxer, but he was shite vs Tyson, but a prime Ferguson would have obviously done alot better.

Don't know, but the other dolt is Luan "Local Hero" Krasniqi. So its clearly German TV and it seems pretty recent.

Haha i'm just wondering if it was actually a morning show or if Tyson just repeated the line his chamber maid at the hotel said to him earlier.

Jesse was a fairly competent heavyweight gatekeeper of the top 20 for several years; nothing more and nothing less.

  26. Hanz

    Hanz Roberto Duran

Agreed. Could Chris Henry have fared better against Tyson you think, Stinger?

Ferguson beat Mercer who beat Morrison who beat Foreman who beat Frazier who beat Ali who beat Liston

Ferguson > Ali, Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Morrison, Mercer

I guess it's probably Duran he's trying to be funny about. But the comparison/analogy is so completely far off that it can't even be used to make a joke. Basically the basis of it boils down to "this guy lost a fight and won a fight, and Duran also lost a fight and won a fight." OK? They must not have humor in Finland.
